It's that time of year once again; the voting is now en for this year's Trance Awards in partnership with Trackitdown. The awards have been running for over four years now with this year marking the 5th edition of what have become Trance music’s leading awards. It's focused on the best in Trance which is as strong as it’s ever been with the sound evolving each year to put that excitement back into the genre. The amount of new artists and producers dropping into the scene shows the pure strength of the genre and that’s it’s got a very lively future for years to come.

Last year's poll hardly seems that far away but they always come around quicker each year. The awards are the creation of internet music retailer TrackitDown, who also partner with us for our very own online record store. It gives you, the Trance enthusiast the chance to vote your opinion on who you think is doing the business within the Trance scene for the last 12 months, weather it be production wise, label wise or club wise. This year there are eleven categories for you to vote your opinion upon.

The voting for the awards is open from today and will close on the 29th September with the winners being announced on the 9th October at the Trance Awards Party.

THE TRANCE AWARDS MIX COMPETITION

This year is not just your votes the organisers are after as with the launch of this years award’s they have also set up a mix competition for four lucky DJ's to spin at the Awards ceremony at the Ministry of Sound in October. The awards night is a mad night just as a clubber but imagine actually playing a set at the gig. With this competition you really could be behind the decks in front of 4000 plus hungry Trance fans there to enjoy the very best in the style that’s has brought so much brilliant music over the past decade and some.

The rules for this competition are very simple. Go and get yourself some music, mix it all together and send it in. It does not state on the news release a time limit for the mix but I would say an hour is just about right to get your message across. The mixes will be judged on presentation as well as mixing so think about that when sending your CD mix in, yep CD mix, no MP3 mixes for this comp. Once you have recorded your mix and your happy, send it in to the following address:
