Brand New Mix From D Ramirez!

© D Ramirez The charismatic house producer and DJ D. Ramirez has just come home from a tour of the United States and Canada and has slotted together a tasty free mix featuring his forthcoming single 'Satur8'...

It's been a little while since we checked in with D. Ramirez (AKA Dean Marriot) who has just come off a tour of the USA and Canada with gigs in Montreal, Toronto and Chicago at the end of last month. The full tour diary will be uploaded to his web site in the next few weeks with his accounts of what life is like over there on the road and is a great insight into the life of a DJ outside his usual surroundings. From the few pictures I've seen of him on tour he looks to have had a very cultural experience while stateside.

While in the USA Dean’s gone all “roving reporter” on us and created a tour diary to share his fondest memories of the tour. Rather than only document his gigs, Dean has provided a much broader look at what life is like in the USA and Canada for a visiting UK DJ. Albeit, most will not get the opportunity to stay at Adam Freeland’s LA-area house during the week, but there are a lot of tips for the long distance traveller. For example, the silver one touches on tips on “other side of the street” driving, walking in LA, Houston’s summertime furnace, a Nanimal in NYC and manning an airplane’s emergency exit while sauced with a hardcore hangover. Keep in mind that Chicago, Montreal and Toronto are still to come! Yikes!

He will be on his travels again at the end of this month, with a few weeks break to no doubt work on some new material, not that he's not got anything already imminent. His brand new single 'Satur8' will be released on the 7th September and is a welcome return for Mr Ramirez as the new track is excellent. It's a trippy house affair with a big kicking riff ripping through the track that's already been given the Pete Tong seal of approval with plays on his Essential Selection.

The new single is not the only production work he's been knocking up as he's teamed up with Toolroom Knights boss Mark Knight to put together a collaboration with the mighty Underworld called 'Downpipe'. That is another favourite with Pete Tong who champagne it his Essential New Tune a few weeks ago and hearing it myself I'm not surprised one bit, it's great!
