© Trackitdown This past Friday saw the 5th annual Trance Awards take place at Ministry of Sound’s Gallery club night.. Hot off the heels of the hangovers from the night we have all this year's winners...

The results for this year's Trance Awards are in and we have the official results direct from TA HQ. The awards are a celebration of everything Trance and this year saw a record number of votes counted which just shows the strength of the genre. The night went like a rocket with Markus Schulz, Menno De Jong, Simon Patterson, Sean Tyas, Claudia Cazacu & Jerome Isma-me providing the fireworks inside one of the biggest and best clubs in the UK. The awards covers 11 categories form Best artist, DJ, new face right down to the best club night.

The votes were counted, the decks were turned on, the punters let in the door and the winner’s announced:

It's a great testament to the continuing passion and drive that Paul van Dyk has towards Trance (Even though he calls it Electronic Music these days) that he is still on top of the tree with him scooping the Best DJ and Producer awards for the second year running. Gareth Emery was very unlucky to lose out to Tiesto for the best remixer as he's produced some scintillating remixes this year. The best new face award is one that has a lot of competition with so many new faces coming onto the scene but it was the female delights of Claudia Cazacu who took the honours this year.

The official album for the awards, which takes on the Euphoria branding this year, is out right now and is pretty essential audio for those into their trance. The Trance Wards team would like to thank all those who took part in this year’s awards and look forward to another great year for Trance in 2010. 2009 still has a bit to go though and there is some very exciting new music to come before big ben chimes on New Years Eve.
