Godskitchen Bring The Anthems

A new compilation with the Godskitchen branding is always worth having a look at but in recent years they have, like a few other brands, been releasing the same stuff, one compilation after the other. There are only so many times you can get away with releasing the same mixes with the same old classics on before people start to loose faith in the brand. They are nothing like the old three disc box sets you were used to when every new gatecrasher, Slinky and Godkitchen album had the latest club smashes mixed by the scene's biggest artists. The latest release from Godskitchen looks to redeem the series a little although it’s full of house, progressive and the odd iffy track littering what is stated as 'Trance Anthems'.

It's probably one reason why Paul van Dyk does not really want to be known as a Trance DJ these days with compilations getting their genres mixed up at times. There is no excuse for putting a Lasgo track on a Trance compilation, regardless of the mix. It's not Trance, its trash and Godskitchen take note for your next release please. Looking over the general spread of the release you’re getting quite a few tracks with each disc pushing nearly 20 records all mixed up. You’ve got the latest records from Sander van Doorn, Ron Van Den Beuken, Paul van Dyk, Above & Beyond and Lange.
