Not content with the success of his fantastic 'Streamlined' compilation Leon Boiler pops in with exciting news of his next artist album penned in for release in 2010. Info and that and lots more in his latest newsletter...
It's great news for Leon Boiler fans this month as he has announced his next artist album will be out for next year and he's currently stuck into the production of his follow up to the mightily good 'Pictures'. That and his latest goings on are all in this month’s update.
The New Artist Album – Production Commences
As 2009 starts to draw to a close, Leon has already got his head well into the 2010 game. And with that comes news you will likely have been waiting for! Next summer will see the release of the follow up to Leon’s much-lauded first artist album ‘Pictures’. Three tracks are already complete and with that legendary Bolier production ethic locked into the ‘overdrive’ position, many more are soon to be summoned. August 2010 is the projected release date… stay tuned for more info on what is currently being referred to around these parts as... ‘The Pictures Beater!’
The New Leon Bolier Single - ‘NSFW’
Now that the always vigorous road-testing is complete, Leon’s new single is about to depart Bolier-town and hit promos-ville. ‘NSFW’ will be competed by a conquering Push remix and it’ll be pulling into release-central in December thru Spinnin’. In other production news Leon's Innerstories moniker (that made quite the debut on Tiesto's' ISOS4') is back in action, this time on Daniel Wanrooy’s new ITWT 14 compilation. Daniel asked for an exclusive track for the comp, Leon produced ‘Stargaze’. That’s just how simple it (sometimes!) gets.
Flashback: Leon Bolier at Circus Afterhours, Canada
It’s hard to determine who anticipated it more - Leon or the hometown Canadian crowds (who had waited so long for his debut). By the 3rd of October it all became academic though, as, on the previous evening Leon detonated the audio dynamite at the very impressive Circus Afterhours in Metropolis Montreal. “Massive” was how La Bolier described it and he’s already hatching plans for a return visit. We’ll of course keep you in the loop on that!
Flashforward: Leon Takes It To Indonesia
With one debut safely smashed there’s another one coming in on fast approach! Halloween is the event, the 31st of October rather unsurprisingly the date and Segarra Beach Club in Jakarta is the place. Leon already been down the supermarket picking out his Halloween face mask; he very much hopes that you have too!
Streamlined – The Event
Coming on strong with the speed of a hurricane, details of ‘Streamlined – The Event’ are firming up just as fast! On hand to kick any of your post-Christmas blues into touch, Leon will tie the finishing knot on 2009 at Club Poema in Utrecht with his all-star trance cast on the 26th of December! Aly & Fila, Marcus Schössow, W&W & Misja Helsloot will all be joining him for the knees-up, which will be broadcast live on Afterhours FM.
:: Tickets are available now through the Solarize shop.
N.S.F.A.Q. (Not So Frequently Asked Questions)
In our (still fairly) new L.B. news-mailer feature we want you to ask Leon a… N.S.F.A.Q.! The best 3 inquiries will get answered and each winner will take home some great LB prizes (this month a guest-list + 1 to a Bolier event of their choice). Go outside-the-box, take Leon away from his comfort zone (wherever that might have been). If you pose an interesting query he’s never been asked before, you’re in with a GREAT shout of getting it answered! Send them to: info@solarize-agency.com
Mat Badger, York (UK): How do you tie your shoelaces?
LB: I never tie em. They remain untied.
Shua Sturm, New York (USA): What is the biggest regret in your life?
LB Says: Not being able to visit one of my friends after he had a cancer diagnosis. There were only a few days between when both he (and I) got the news of the diagnosis. My friends and I were just going to visit him when we got a phone call. It was already too late (of course we didn't expect that to happen so fast). Before that no one except for his family was allowed to go and visit. I still greatly regret not seeing him in those couple of days. I wrote the lyrics for the track 'No Need to Come Back' with him in mind.
Dimitris Otinanai, Pátrai (Greece): Do you like football? If so, which team do you support?
LB: Yep, I support Ajax Amsterdam though the last 2 years I didn't check too much (mostly being down to travelling all the time). For the Dutch football team I can go pretty crazy though, especially during World or European championships - wearing silly hats n stuff.
Welcome To The BOLIER Room!
In The Bolier Room we go through and back out the other side of Leon’s mind. The subject matter: anything and everything apart from EDM (which we think is pretty well serviced by the rest of the mailer!)
"About a year ago I discovered him and his band on a Dutch television program De Wereld Draait Door and I was instantly impressed by this group of people, playing live instruments, with Kyteman himself is the conductor. He also plays the flugelhorn from time to time as well! It's said that it's some kind of a fusion between Hip Hop and an orchestra but when I discovered their song 'Sorry' I knew it was something beyond that. What an amazing piece of music, played with passion by all the band members! In the end of 2009 they will wrap up the band to look into how to take the music in future directions. It does sadden me that they’re going to do this but I'm looking forward to what Kyteman has to offer in the future too."
