The new single from Paul van Dyk has landed with heavy remix support from Kaskade, Wippenberg, Comisc Gate and Static Avenger...

Paul van Dyk is more than just a Trance DJ and producer. He's a global electronic music god who feeds in a mixture of styles with his radio shows, live sets and productions. This latest single from the German shows off that diversity with the different remixes that accompany it. He has enlisted the vocal aid of Jonny McDaid who also did the vocals on Paul's 'Time Of Our Lives' track. He is the former single of British cult band VEGA4 which were credited on 'Time Of Our Loves' as he was still part of the band when the track was released. He's moved onto more solo projects but his vocal work on Paul's new single is just as epic as it was the last

The is the first new Paul van Dyk track for quite a while but his two mixes in here, one for the radio friendly audience and the other for the full on club sets are very welcome. The Radio Edit is quite different from the full on club mix I first heard in a Miami set earlier in the year. Not surprising really as the name gives it away. It's a guitar driven track with a traditional band sound from start to finish. The vocal in here is quite fitting with the track and tells the story as it develops. The Club mix is where things pick up a little and its full on van Dyk . The initial build up bubbles a delighting bass sound to go along with a firm backing beat. It feeds in the main leading key and after slipping the beat out it drops it back after a short build up. It's always building up to something though and that key chord turns into a leading melody with sweeping percussion in the background. The vocal drops in and gives the track impact as the sounds start to drop away and melody build back up. It's a big vocal and big sound in the heart of this track but drops a heavy beat once it's fed back in. It may not be a classic Dyk track compared with his previous records but its quite catchy thanks to the McDaid vocal that’s in there.

If the original is a little bit to 'catchy' for your taste then the remixes should offer up something different. Kaskade is not an artist that I have heard much off but he's put together a nice house style mix in this release. The sound edges on electro house with its big organ changing riffs and beat wise it gets deep with the sound. The radio edit is bundled in there for those looking for a short thrill and is pretty much the same as the remix, just shorter. Whippenberg serves up a progressive style approach to his mix with a drip of tech in the sound. The mix is very rich and on a differing pace to the thumping club mix Paul produced. The build up is kept simple with the elements and features a nice rumbling bass line that should liven up the speaker. The electric chord on the main break uses the vocal but drops off that chord and back into the beat with a stabby melody hitting you hard.

The pick of the remixes on this release is definitely from the Cosmic Gate boys who are on fire this year with their productions. They have put their new style of Trance sound in this remix and combined it with the flow of the original to create a very tasty tune. The build up in here really rips the speakers to bits with a rolling electrified chord hitting in time with the bass line. The deep feeling in here and dark mood change the way the vocals sound. It's not so much hands in the air but more aggressive to the ear. The main break used the guitar chord for the melody that starts off deep but morphs into a euphoric blast that came across very uplifting. Once all those elements are put together and the main beat comes in it’s a great feeling with an aggressive euphoric edge driving the sound through.

Conclusion:
Overall a very solid track from Paul but I'm sure his mix will draw criticism from the Trance community for being a bit to pop'ish. I dont think it is at all and quite like it but for that deeper sound the Cosmic gate remix is the one to slip on.
