Roger Shah November Update

The DJ Mag Top 100 has been very good to the artist formally know as DJ Shah this year. He only entered the poll in 2008 and this year he sits inside the top 30 which highlights his growing popularity around the electronic dance universe. He may have dropped the 'DJ' for 'Roger' these days but the musical productions he keeps pushing out are off the same Shah quality we have been used to. It's shaping up to be a good year next year with a third instalment of his 'Magic Island' compilation series due in the Summer and a host of Balearic new tracks itching to be let loose. All that and more in this months update.

Roger Shah – No. 21 On DJ Mag's T-100!!

It just goes to show you what the power of a studio that works night & day and a DJ that rarely sleeps can do! In 2008 Roger entered DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs chart for the first time, making his big debut at 58. It has been another truly incredible 12 months in Roger’s life, one packed with new gig experiences, numerous Beatport-busting singles and a hands-down kick-ass compilation. Top 100 2009 though is a whole new level entirely, with Roger blazing through the rankings, becoming the 2nd highest climber this year and hitting the No.21 position! If you put ‘Roger Shah’ into one of your precious voting boxes, well he’s extremely humbled and would like to say a massive ‘thank you’ from the bottom of his heart! You’ve made this happen for him. Roger Shah & Tenishia Ft. Lorilee – ‘I'm Not God’

Following his mesmerizing collaborative turn with Tenishia on 2008’s ‘You’re So Cool’, Roger Shah is back re-teaming with Maltese production Don on ‘I’m Not God’ this month. Featuring the enthralling vocals of Lorilee, it is a track that will have an instant recognition factor amongst those who’ve seen him play recently. If you’re in the mood for halcyon vocals, a driving production and a downright beguiling breakdown… stop the search! Both Roger and Tenishia turn in their own individual mix treatments on ‘I’m Not God’, which is has just been released through his Magic Island imprint via Armada. Roger Shah – Into 2010

2009? In Roger’s mind it was really just a warm-up for 2010! Into the New Year you can expect to hear all the Balearically-minded music you’ve loved this year… only more of it! The official follow up to last year’s ASOT Tune of the Year will be hitting the promo trail very shortly. Entitled ‘Found’ and featuring again Zara on vocals, the new Sunlounger single is the promise of big things indeed. The single will quickly be followed by the long-anticipated new Sunlounger album in March. The third installment from Roger’s best known pseudonym, it will of course be packed with the very finest sun ‘n’ sand inspired music. Then into summer it’ll be another trilogy completion, this time for Roger’s ‘Magic Island – Music For Balearic People Vol 3’ compilation. Bringing up the tail end of this 3 album odyssey (that number again!) will be the new Roger Shah artist album in October. Frankly just writing about it leaves us breathless. Spare a thought for Roger. He’s got to record it all!

The Magic Island Radio Show

Beaming out around the world, Roger’s Magic Island Radio Show has been keeping the airwaves and telecommunication cables buzzing over the last 12 months. The show goes out on DI:FM’s Trance Channel at the prime-time Friday @ 10pm CET time (just after TATW). It has also just started broadcasting on Tuesday nights on Mexico's Beat 100.9 FM station.
