 Two of the UK's promising club nights will be getting together this month for a very special Trance night in the heart of the midlands. Giuseppe Ottaviani pops in along with John Askew and friends for one very action packed club night...
If your one of our UK readers then the chances is you will have come across one of Digital Society and Amplified's club nights already as they are both growing into two of the best club nights you can find here in the Midlands. The Digital Society brand has been going for a while now and has fast expanding to running events all over the UK. They have just released volume two of their very classy 'Digital Society International' compilation series with two thunderous mixes from John Askew. They have had events in London, Amsterdam, Coalville (Passion) and their spiritual home in Leeds this year attracting the scene's leading Trance artists and DJ's to make the party go with a bang. The Digital Society just keeps getting bigger and will be one of the nights to look out for come the New Year for the freshest new music from the world's top electronic dance music pioneers.
Amplified has just had its first birthday with Gareth Emery, Sean Tyas, Greg Downey and resident Ben Gold putting on a superb show of the latest in Trance and progressive sounds. The event all start back in late 2008 in the small city of Derby by a group of folk looking to provide the best Trance night the region could offer. With a combination of a great team behind the project and an ideal venue for like minded trance addicts to get sweaty in they have succeeded in hosting one of the best club nights on offer every month. the list of high profile DJ's who have pumped the outrageous beats through the sound system over the past year include Judge Jules, Simon Patterson, John O'Callgahan, Genix, Jon O'Bir, Activa, Ronski Speed, Gareth Emery and Sean Tyas.
 
The coming together of the two brightest and forward thinking club nights on the 20th November has created a very special line up for the November event. You have a residents face off with Amplified's AJ Hutch and Digital Society's Rav Takhar setting the decks alive to warm up for an immense live set from Giuseppe Ottaviani who will be taking his LIVE show to the night as he continues on his global tour promoting his debut artist album on Vandit, GO!. John Askew, who has played at both events many a time before and loves these nights (Read our recent Interview with John Askew here) will be there offering nothing but full throttle electronic carnage. You will find some of the upcoming new talents around the local area playing in what Amplified like to call 'The Bunker' which is a showcase for new faces to make a name for themselves. In the main room there is a visual treat from VJ Steve G who will be lighting up the stage with his own unique style of video mixing and has a endless CV in visuals having provided them for Groove Armada, David Guetta, Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto and Nu Nrg in the past.
The venue is one of the most intimate and decorative places you could ever want a dance event in with The Royal being situated in the heart of Derby City centre. It's a venue that allows the crowd to get fully immersed in the sound and provides one of the best atmosphere's going. It's a grade 2 listed building that plays host to live bands, fashion events and a whole host of entertainment shows as well as thunderous club nights with its thirty thousand pounds worth of audio equipment. The venue plays hosts to two rooms with an overall capacity of over 600 it provides one of the most immersive backdrops you could find.
