One of the biggest names in Dance music is back with a brand new compilation, his first for a few years and its back to the Oakenfold club sound we all know and love. It's Perfecto and it's in Las Vegas...
The diversity of Paul Oakenfold over the past few years may have seen fans who know of him from his early Trance oriented compilations from the late ninety’s fall a little out of touch to the Oakenfold sound of today. He is a famous face in the world of Dance music and one of the few producers to be nominated for a Grammy Award. He has produced film scores, remixed tracks for the worlds biggest pop and rock acts like Madonna and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers with Paul even warming up the crowd for Madonna on her 'Sweat & Stickey' UK and European tour. You may know him for being one of the main Trance guys in the 90's when the genre was just being defined as a style of music.
His very own Perfecto record label have been a great source for quality dance music releases over the years and the numerous Planet Perfecto compilations and remixes he has produced will go down as all time classics. It's the Perfect brand that is back for his new compilation which celebrates his Las Vegas residency at the Rain nightclub. It's a huge club set in the glamorous surroundings of the mental sykline of Las Vegas. Where else in the world do you find a replica of the Statue of Liberty and a pyramid? Paul even calls the place the Ibiza of America and he knows a thing or two about the Island having played at Pacha and Amnesia for many years over there.
‘The new Ibiza of America. It used to be somewhere families went but now it’s the playground for partygoers who come for a long weekend. It’s been so good, I’ve just renewed my residency for another year and play most Saturdays. I did have options for residencies in New York, Miami and LA, but for me Vegas is the future’.
Paul Oakenfold The double disc compilation features 25 exclusive tracks and a shuffle of the order from the US digital release earlier in the Summer. It's a mixture of Trance and House the style of Oakenfold with the two mixes capturing the fusion between the two styles perfectly. It's got that Oakenfold old sound to it of course but with a new flavour to bring it right up to date. He has a brand new track in here called 'Buenos Aires' and a remake of the classic anthem 'Taste Experience’s Summersault'.
