© ATB If there were a DJ I'd buy a drink this Christmas it would have to be ATB after his stella 'Future Melodies' album released earlier in the year. His DJ skills are not too bad either and he's releasing volume five of the 'In The Mix' series this next month...

The joy ATB has brought to electronic dance music fans over the year's has come in many forms through enthralling artist albums, mesmerising live sets and steaming DJ mixes. He was one of the big names to come out of the 99 boom that Trance had with tracks like '9PM' and Don't Stop which came off his 'Moving Melodies' long player. His recent work has been nothing short of exceptional with the return of ATB to LP in his 'Future Melodies' album which came out after a two year production hiatus this summer. It was a breath of fresh air for the style of tracks he managed to put into the album taking his Trance sound but injecting it with new life and above all, beautiful melodies. That is what ATB does best and his albums are like ronseal, they do exactly what it says on the tin.

His DJ side may not be one that you will had much exposure to over the years, I know I've not heard much mix wise from him but its every bit as good as his productions. His very own in house 'In The Mix' series is a clear demonstration of his skills at slipping one record into the other. He's right on the button when it comes to the latest in Trance with volume five being brimmed to the top of fresh new records. It's a three disc affair with two discs of new tracks and a third bonus mixing together some all time Trance and classic dance music releases from yesteryear. It's how a mix disc should be, focusing on the new stuff with a quick flashback to the kind of records that inspired many to get into the scene and start pitting together records of their own. This ones drops at the beginning on the year and is quite an essential purchase I think.
