© Cream The first Cream compilation of the New Year puts the focus on the Electro sound that has been infiltrating various styles of dance music throughout 2009, many of which can be found in this triple disc offering...

The sound of Electro may have been created in the 80's but it’s a sound that has become ever prominent within dance music in recent years. Even the Trance community has absorbed the sound; a certain Ferry Corsten had two artist albums with Electro the soul influence for them. The field of Electro House is a genre in its own right these days and the mighty brand of Cream have three discs full of it. It may be labelled 'Future' but most of the tracks here are from 2009 with a few New Year updates of old classics and new tracks. As with all compilations there may be a few wrong interpretations to what really does count as 'Electro' but that’s a feature of most mass released albums.

Track wise, you will find records from Deadmau5, Cirez D, Bodyrox, Mylo, David Guetta, Hervé, Kissy Sellout and Fake Blood with plenty of rumbling bass lines throughout the three discs. It's a highlight of the way the Electro sound has infiltrated many different styles and that can be shown with remixes of the likes of Paul van Dyk, Moby and Tiesto who aren’t known for producing electro. It looks a good way for Cream to kick off the New Year and no doubt they will be bringing more albums out in the next few months.
