This latest uplifting gem from the Monster household is a debut release on the label for Chapter XJ called Resurrection. It's backed up with a remix from the very in demand Jorn van Deynhoven who's sprinkled his magic remix dust on yet another record...
This is the first time Chapter XJ has appeared on the Monster Tunes label who threw out some fantastic music over the course of last year and look set to do the same, if not better this year. The name behind the alias is a German fellow who goes by the calling of Jan Jünemann and if your like me this may be the first you've heard of him since his debut release on Fenology records two years ago 'Exhilaration / Again'. He has been producing records since 2005 with a remix of a Pattraxx vs. Marc De Pulse track but this is only his second ever home grown effort.
:: Original Mix :: Jorn van Deynhoven Remix
He may not have that many releases to date but it seems to be a case of quality over quantity for Chapter XJ. You will find nothing but quality with the Original Mix that’s for sure. The whole feeling with the track is one of bright uplifting moods and dreamy flavours. He builds up the track from the start with a bass driven riff that smooth flowing alongside the percussion, beats and kicks. It’s all about the uplifting flow and feeling generated by a sparky sounding string that leads into the break. It’s that break that brings you into the uplifting melody that sweeps in from the distance and builds until it explodes into full effect. The result is a dreamy synth driven affair that packs a great deal of uplifting detail when the beat slides back in. Add to that additional piano keys shortly after and you have a quite smooth flowing piece of uplifting Trance here that can bring sunshine to even the darkest of days.
The whole scene last year was introduced to a certain Jorn van Deynhoven with his remix of RAM’s Ramsterdam, which was really just a rip off of a track by Lemon & Einar K called ‘Anticipation’. Rip off maybe but his remake of the track was quite a good one and no doubt been played to death by many of the top electronic jockeys since it got released. One thing the mix highlighted was the skill that Jorn has in taking a track and turning it into something special. He’s done a similar thing with his remix here. Taking the original but injecting his aggressive energy to fill it with even more uplifting qualities. The beat is stronger and kicks offer more impact. He’s build up the lead with a floating sythn lead backed up by chord changing bass lines. The melody is focused more with the piano keys at first then dives into the main melody which seems to have more impact than the original. Rolling up a kick drum feeds in the main melody along with the beat and the result is super uplifting.
Conclusion:
Chapter XJ may not pop up very frequently on the release lists but when he does he always brings something good along. The remix would be the one to go for here with Jorn van Deynhoven doing his CV no harm at all with another cracking piece of production work. He may well be a name to watch out for this year.
