In partnership with the Armada label, Irish trance DJ & producer John O'Callaghan has launched his very own label with the first release a solo release from John himself called 'Striker'. Quality over quantity is the labels philosophy...
John O'Callaghan has taken his Subculture brand one step further today with the launch of his brand new label. It will be housed under the very famous Armada label, which is the home of Dutch Trance start Armin van Buuren. He has been working with the label for the past five years with numerous single releases on one of their imprints 'Captivating Sounds' and his second artist album 'Never Fade Away' which was released last year. The move to his very own imprint with Armada was the next logical step and one that should excite his fans around the globe.
He let slip about plans for the label at Technoclub's 25th Anniversary towards the end of last year to our very own Miles who gave the Irishman a good grilling on his future plans. That was the first that I heard about news for the label. The time has arrived where the talk is no more and Subculture the label has been born. The label is named after his 'Subculture' radio show and late last year he released 'Subculture' the album, which was a two disc mixed compilation featuring the sound that will be showcased on the label this year.
The aim of the label is to be known for "consistency and is known for solid, quality releases" as John himself has stated. It's a matter of quality over quantity with a release schedule of one a month for the current future. The first single for the label is one you may well have heard already, if you have his superb 'Subculture' mix or been following his radio shows in recent weeks. 'Striker' is the name for the labels first outing and is a track produced by John O'Callaghan himself. "'Striker' is a big tech-trancer by myself called 'Striker'. It's a melody I had sitting on my studio for over 2 years and finally got to do something with it. The remix is by someone who I really highly rate. It's by Ummet Ozcan - and he did an amazing job, this guy is going places! The 2nd release is by a hot new UK producer which we won't announce yet...and we have secured a Giuseppe Ottaviani remix - which is massive news for the label. The 3rd release is under construction right now but expect work on the label in the future from Thomas Bronzwaer, Tom Colontonio...and perhaps some new projects of mine as well as a new Lost World and Joint Operations Centre. Exciting times ahead!"
John O'Callaghan I don’t think I could have out it any better myself. The single is available today and you can grab it right now over on the i:Vibes record store:
