The lights are dimming down and daybreak is far, far away because its time for the second helping of the Dark Session on Discover. Gary Maguire has his fingers on the dimmer this time around...
The second edition of the Dark Sessions will be breaking out at the beginning of February with a stunning mix of underground trance by one of the scene's fastest rising stars Gary Maguire. He is another export from Ireland with a passion and drive for full on pumping beats and erotic melodies. He made his name spinning with hardcore music before settling into the trance and techno genres for which he is building up a great reputation for producing excellent records. A few examples of his improving talents would be thumpers like 'Standing Still' and 'True Colours' that certainly get straight to the point with a bang. He has a big fan in John Askew who has marked him down as a man who will be the next big Irish export since John O'Callaghan.
It's not a surprise then to see him mix a compilation on John's very own label, Discover which is part of the Recoverworld group. The first edition was put together by fellow label boss Chris Hampshire and was a superb mix of the very best tough, dark and aggressive trance and techno offerings he could get hold off. It's more of the same but direct from the decks of Gary Maguire who has put together a very inviting mix of aggressive electronic bombs for the second edition. With new records from the likes of Adam Foley, John Askew, Activa, Sean Tyas, Spencer and Gary himself it is shaping up to be an another essential audio injection from Discover.
