Uplifting trance and Fenology go together like cheese and crackers. JayB is the latest new talent to get the chance to show the trance community what he's made off with this brand new double EP complimented by a remix from Suncatcher...
There seems to be a new generation of electronic music producers pushing into the scene at the moment because there is some inspiring new music floating around. Fenology have been around for 34 releases before this latest one and have had the likes of Alex M.O.R.P.H and Woody van Eyden , the label's creator and master in command release some true classics since the labels re-birth back in 2007. Were big fans of Fenology over here on i:Vibes and always get excitied by a new release. There is plenty to get excited aboout with this one has new to many German producer JayB has delivered two outstanding uplifting trance productions with a remix fromm the familer Suncatcher.
:: Eleven Thirty :: Eleven Thirty (Suncatcher Remix) :: Signals
It's not a surprise that these new tracks have been popping into the plays lists of Above & Beyond and Armin van buuren over the past few weeks. Eleven Thirty is an outstanding piece of electronic gold that’s flush with upbeat flavour and dreamy keys. The original mix has an excellent build up using a solid main beat and tinny percussion that introduces a groovy electro (ish) rhythm and gorgeous tone shifting keys to build the mood. Build into that some short effects and atmospheric changes in the rear of the track and you have an excellent introduction to the main break. Mixing together a combination of subtle piano keys the main melody comes in with supreme effect and makes a stunning impact. Brimmed to the top with energy and exploding when the main beat kicks back in. It’s a track with lots of elements working in sync with each other to create a deeply moving feel. Suncatcher takes things a little bit deeper with his beats and percussion on his remix choosing to go with a much longer breakdown and build up with lots of sweeping sounds teasing you to when the main melody is going to fire back in. This mix is a little more pumping and just ups the tempo a slight notch.
After the explosive uplifting mood it’s a slight switch in direction for Signals at first, which for me is the strongest track on this release. It’s still quite firmly in the uplifting category but from the start it’s fooling you to the burst of euphoric keys and bars that hit after the first break. The lead is well worked with a bubbling lead string that fades up into the track backed up by harmonic bass changes. It’s when the break hits that things start to heat up with great echo effects on the keys and building backing chord that seems ready to explode any minute. The melody that comes through is thrust into action after the main beat gets drummed back into action. This is driving, uplifting and is what trance is all about.
Conclusion:
It's not a shock to see a good record on Fenology who have done wonders here in bringing an unknown talent into the scene; unknown to me, you might have heard JayB before. This first dosage of what he has to offer on Fenology is simply superb and has just what you need to inject some energy into the most lethargic of ear drum.
