© Leon BoilerThe very latest direct from Leon Bolier this month with news on a brand new single, a revamped website and news on his brand new artist album that will be coming at some point this year...

There is lots of news in this months’ Leon Bolier update with details on when his next artist album will be working our way. He has also given his virtual home a bit of an update and has a brand new single out right now in the form of 'Shimamoto'. It's another smash from Leon and has been finding its way into the likes of Judge Jules' sets recently. Anyway, here is all the latest.

The New Leon Bolier Single & The New Website

Shimamoto – the first single to be taken from Leon’s sophomore artist album - is available now. Combining majestic melodics with some high-pressure atmospherics, it has found its way into many an A-list spinner’s CD wallet over the last few weeks - Messers Van Buuren, Corsten and Jules included. As with most every one of LB’s tracks, it comes with a highly-enigmatic, curiosity-inducing title. Initially hesitant to clue us in to it origins, we left Leon to sweat under the lights for a couple of hours to think things over. On our return he confessed that ‘Shimamoto’ was a reference to the mysterious main character in Haruki Murakami’s book South Of The Border, West Of The Sun’… Now we know… now we may sleep again!

And The New Artist Album

As touched on above Leon’s all-guns-blazing, not-difficult-in-the-slightest 2nd album will be making its much anticipated appearance this year. Now we’ll make no bones about it, it is very early in the day to be talking about it (it’s not due until August – "60% completed" was the latest LB verdict). But if you’re waiting for it with the same type of anticipation you'd normally reserve for the World Cup or payday you’ll be delighted to hear that Leon has uploaded a few carefully measured doses of what’s in-store to his YouTube channel. Be so far ahead of the rest that it hurts…and click here to check them!

Gig Flashforward

Leon heard that there had been trouble in the (musical) land down-under recently so next month he will be heading over there to offer his expert witness services in the legal dispute that’s gripped Australia. Whilst he’s down that way he’ll be playing a couple of gigs to satisfy the thirst of east & west coast Ozzie clubbers, appearing at the Rise nightclub in Perth on the 19th and Shivers in Melbourne on the 20th. Watch out Australia, one of the great legal minds of the 20th century is on his way! Oh, and if you’re not in easy reach of those two metropoles, don’t sweat it – there’ll be a full Oz tour after the summer!

What's Goin On? Plenty!

Leon’s been holding a regular old Collab-Con in The Netherlands of late. He’s teamed up with Marcus 'The Swedish Beatball' Schössow on a feisty, fiery new two hander, which will be out through Spinnin’ Records in the next couple of months. There’s also a new team-up with regular (video) sparing partner, Sied van Riel. Probability of that coming on Spinnin’ or one of its sub-labels? Strong!

Streamlined On Tour Part II

Hungry for more action of the Streamlined kind? Yep, so is Hungary! Do you see what we almost did there (but failed!)! The 14th is the day, 2010 is the year and, yes, March is the month, when LB will take his Streamlined mind to Budapest for one killer night. Also 'CC’d' on the event will be Cliff Coenraad and the dynamic Dutch duo will be there alongside lots of other Hungarian talent (as well as some great local DJs – ho-ho!) for Streamlined Part II! Club Kameleon (a club so great they partially named it after Leon) is the place. Check in with either LB’s or the Solarize Agency sites for more info on this and the just announced Streamlined Pt III in Utrecht.

N.S.F.A.Q.

In our regular L.B. news-mailer feature we want you to ask Leon a… Not So Frequently Asked Question! The best inquiry will get answered and each winner will take home some great LB prizes. Go outside-the-box, take Leon away from his comfort zone (wherever that might have been). If you pose an interesting query he’s never been asked before, you’re in with a GREAT shout of getting it answered! Send them over to: info@solarize-agency.com

Sebastiaan Spykstra (Netherlands) asks: What is your most favorite haircut design?

Leon replies: That's gotta be Carlos Valderrama's cut back in the days. It ooked like a fountain of champagne! Sebastiaan wins a +1 guestlist for the next Streamlined event!

Who Dare Enter... The BOLIER Room!!

In The Bolier Room we go clean through Leon’s mind & straight out the other side, usually with a subject he's been pondering whistling along behind.

“This month it's about the label my good friend Freek Geuze (Fine Taste / Global Illumination) recently set up with his partner-in-crime Johan Vermeulen: Why Not Music. Upcoming on this label: 'Stefan Vincent - Dazed / The Groove That Went EP', nice deep melodic techno. The latter track on this EP already was featured in my Streamlined radio show (episode 20) and the EP is to be released next monday. Check it out here.

Stay in TOUCH with Leon!

Social networking! Where would music be without it? Back in the 90's, that’s where! A decade where mobile phones were carried for the express purpose of calling people you know while walking down windy streets (before they introduced all that new-fangled texting business in 2000!). Anyway those days are gone... thank the Creator! Now you can stay up-to-the-nanosecond date with all of Leon’s info-lightning-bolts through the marvellous digital vessels below.
