The start of the year has been an incredibly busy one for Markus Schulz with the release of his 5th city theme compilation 'Las Vegas' last month one of his best I've ever heard. He will be a man in demand when his touches down on the sunny beaches of Miami later this month for the annual winter music conference that gets underway on the 23rd but I'm sure he will find time to top up that tan while over there. He has all his latest March updates below with news on his new single, which you will have had a preview off if you have already picked up his 'Las Vegas' compilation, which we recommend you do. Not just that but a little interview on his thoughts for Trance Energy that’s coming up and all his forthcoming DJ dates.
Exclusive Premiere of “Dark Heart Waiting” on Global DJ Broadcast!
The monthly Global DJ Broadcast World Tour episodes are always special and hugely anticipated in their own right. However, the recent San Francisco edition took on added significance, as it was the first opportunity for fans across the world to hear Markus Schulz’s brand new single, featuring the vocals of Khaz, entitled “Dark Heart Waiting”. Reactions to the track have been incredible, and more information on Dark Heart Waiting will be revealed very soon, with a release set for mid-April.
Markus Schulz at Winter Music Conference 2010
Outside of the Ibiza season, the most important and anticipated period of the dance music calendar is Winter Music Conference week in Miami. Those of you travelling to South Florida for the festivities will be able to catch Markus Schulz performing at several gigs – the first being a 4 hour set on the opening night of the conference at Dream on Tuesday, continuing with a headline performance at Nocturnal on Friday, and rounding off with the massive Ultra Music Festival on Saturday.

Markus’ 2010 contribution towards his critically acclaimed city compilation series has dominated the discussion on message boards and social networks. Now available on both CD and digital formats, the compilation went straight into the Dutch Top 10 chart, landing at the number 6 position.

It is the event which every trance fan in the world wants to attend, and the one Markus Schulz compares to the Superbowl. He returns to headline the main stage in the 2010 edition, promising to present some exclusive reconstructions and world premieres from his upcoming artist album. In this special video interview, Markus gives his thoughts on playing in The Netherlands, his favorite Dutch producers, and why Trance Energy remains so special to him personally.

On Easter Sunday, April 4th, the 16th edition of Montreal’s White Party extravaganza, Bal en Blanc, will take place. Described as one of his favorite cities in the world to play, Markus Schulz returns to Palais Des Congres as part of a star-studded lineup, where his remixed theme “Dressed in White” is sure to feature before a capacity crowd of over 15,000 people.
