The hangovers may still be very fresh from those who attended the Winter Music Conference over in Miami last week. If you were over there for the annual dance music gathering of industry professionals, club promoters, dance brands, artists and clubbers you may well still be nursing one yourself. The 25th edition of the conference was home to the 25th edition of the International Dance Music Awards which covers over fifty categories covering all spectrums of dance music. Not just the music but, clubs, software, equipment and music more; just about anything dance related you can think of they have an award for.
The results are in for the 2010 edition and it’s been a good haul for Armin van Buuren this year as he bagged 'Best Global DJ' and his label bagging 'Best Global Record Label'. Paul van Dyk's end of year VOINYC Sessions compilation deservedly won the 'Best Full Length DJ Mix' award and Tiesto scooped the 'Best Radio Show' honours beating some stiff competition. There were no surprises on the DJ kit front with Pionner cleaning up the best mixer and CD player awards for their DJM800 and CDJ1000 table top players. That sexy boy David Guetta who had a very good 2009 took the prestigious 'Best Producer' award this year as well as 'Best Pop Dance Track & Best Progressive/Tech House Track' with 'When Love Takes Over' and 'Sexy Boy'.
In total there were fifty eight categories for this year's awards and you can check out the full list of winners on the IDMA web site.
