© ChicaneChicane will be back with a bang this year as they bring a brand new studio album in the next few weeks and premier the first single from it in the next few days. They are back on the road and will be live at the Gallery next week...

Chicane is one of the most history rich dance producers of the past decade and a half without any shadow of a doubt. His music has a distinctive sound to it that no other producer can even get close to. His early sound that is, although his 'poppy' approach to his last artist LP 'Somersault' can be forgiven as it might not be what you were used to by Chicane it was still pretty decent. It was back in the late nineties that Chicane carved out his reputation with the arrival of ''Far From the Maddening Crowds' that brought a certain record called 'Offshore' to the world. 'Saltwater' will go down as a classic that will go on to inspire artists and producers for years to come, and rightly so, I'm sure it features in any dance fan's top ten best tunes (Not that you can ever narrow it down to just that).

He has been quite lively throughout the past year with his latest releases unearthing classic recordings from years gone by like 'Poppiholla', which not only perfectly suited the Chicane sound it saw the return of a very well know alias the 'Disco Citizens'. More recent that that we have had an 80's update of Gary Numan's 'Cars' with 'Hiding All The Stars', which may upset the 80's purists but for those 80's dance music crossovers it went down a treat. We could rant on all day about how good Chicane is but down to business. He is back on it this year with a brand new single immediately due out that is taken from his next artist album due out in a few weeks time. As soon we have details on it we will let you know.

For a sneak preview, as I'm sure he will be showcasing the new stuff, head on down to The Gallery next Friday at the Ministry of Sound as Chicane is due to appear live in the main room. DJ'in, as the press release states, is not something Nick Bracegirdle (that’s chicane to you and me) has any interest if doing. His live show will see his band take canter state as they will be live on stage to pump out the Chicane sound, old and new.

We are very pleased to announce a very special Gallery event forthcoming on April 9th with none other than Chicane - live on stage!

Chicane is producer, writer and performer, Nick Bracegirdle, who hails form a small village in Buckinghamshire. A large misconception about Nick is that he is a DJ, however, it's something he has so far had no interest in doing, he is happy making music and producing and working with acts as diverse as Sir Tom Jones, Natasha Bedingfield, Cher, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Bryan Adams, Jewel, Gary Numan, and BT.

Back in 1997 'Offshore' was Chicane's calling card and the album 'Far From the Maddening Crowds' consolidated Chicane's position as Ibiza's top Trance act. 'Saltwater' became a chart hit and in 2000 the single 'Don't Give Up' featuring Bryan Adams became the bands first number one UK single. The album 'Behind the Sun' followed suit and the band’s name has perhaps become coupled with eclectic and diverse collaborations.

The Chicane 'Best Of' album has achieved gold status (over 100,000 sold), which was off the back of the number 7 UK chart single 'Poppiholla'. The album included some of the iconic tracks from the last fourteen years: 'Offshore', 'Don't Give Up', 'Saltwater', and 'Halcyon', as well as recent live favourites such as 'Bruised Water', and 'Hiding All the Stars'. The last few months of 2009 were filled with extensive touring- five festivals in Australia, Jakarta, India and the UK, the live show being an important part of what Chicane represents.

So, what of 2010? A new studio album will be released April/May, and the new single 'Come Back & Stay' is scheduled for early April, and indeed, is already getting heavy play in the clubs, mixes by; Shock One, Rily & Durrant and Dean Newton.

One of the most important parts of Chicane is the live show, a band playing the tunes live, it's always a celebration of old and new and incites a party atmosphere. This will be one very special Gallery – miss it at your own peril!!!

    SOURCE: Press Release
As we eagerly await the new studio album from one of the biggest names in dance music those of you who can head down to the Gallery next week may well get a head start. Always a bonus, joining Chicane in the main room are a few other big name dance starts with Martin Roth, a very good looking trance DJ known as Claudia Cazacu, Mat Zo, Gavyn Mytchel and The Viceroy are all on call to help the night go down a storm.
