As he will be drawing the curtain on his long running compilation series this year with the announcement of a brand new one. It's a 'New Dawn' for Tiesto...
The search for sunrise has come to an end for Tiesto who released the seventh, and final, edition of the long running compilation series in 2008. It marks the end of an era in many ways and could quite mark a new direction of sound for Tiesto. He has been responsible for another highly respected compilation series before with his 'Magik' series that bowed out with two live volumes recorded from his sets in the early part of the last decade. The end of that series saw the creation of 'In Search Of Sunrise' which has been a staple diet for electronic music fans every time a new edition hit the scene. Everything must have an end and it’s the end of the road for the series, which may be sad for fans of it but it brings an exciting new series marking a new chapter in the extraordinary career of the artist formerly known as DJ Tiesto.
The new compilation name you may ask? 'A New Dawn' is the name which subtlety follows the name theme for the series it’s replacing. It's the end of Tiesto compilations on Black Hole who, as Tiesto makes clear, do have plans to keep the series alive even without its founder and pioneer of 7 volumes. Having taken the ISOS series as far as I could, I felt it was time to leave the past behind and come with something fresh and new. ISOS was an incredible journey for me, but as my music taste evolved, I wanted my DJ mix compilation to evolve with it. Black Hole plans to release another ISOS album, but to be very clear, I will not be involved in any way. I sold my part of the company to Arny Bink and have no involvement or benefits of Black Hole Recordings.
The mix album has always been a very important part of my artistic expression as a DJ and I wanted to come with something really special that pushes the boundaries once again for what this format can be. We're moving into a new era in terms of how music is released and I want to look at exciting new ways to express what I do and connect with my fans.
I am very happy to let everyone know that the title of this mix album will be 'A New Dawn', a name that means so much to me personally and signifies so many things in so many ways. It's been an awakening in more ways than one! These past two years, I have been on a musical journey of discovery, culminating in my album and world tour with Kaleidoscope. Now with 'A New Dawn' I look forward to continuing that process, showcasing some amazing cutting edge electronic music from myself and others. As I continue to explore and develop as an artist and DJ, I am constantly inspired by those around me and the other artists I meet. I can't wait to share it with the world!'
Tiesto He is still in the middle of his 'Kaleidoscope' tour at the moment and if like me, you were disappointed with the album; his live sets on the road are a world apart and still knows how to rock out an arena. It's sad to see an end for then 'In Search Of Sunrise' series, because lets face it, its nothing with Tiesto but his 'New Dawn' should be just the fresh electronic injection dance fans need to start loving Tiesto all over again.
