Liquid Recordings host the next vocal trance bomb to be exploded by the DNS Project under their Whiteglow aliases. I say their, but the project is run by just one man, Estonian trance producer Rene Pais...
Aliases can be a bit confusing within dance music. The DNS Project you would think by the name is a collective of musicians but in reality it is just the one. That one is Estonian producer Rene Pais, who you may also know as Lens Flare, and he is back with a real bomb of a vocal trance track featuring the vocals of Lo-Fi Sugar. You may remember here for the vocal work on Paul van Dyk's 'In Between' album which unleashed her voice to the world of electronic dance music and since that album she has been popping up in tracks everywhere. Not a bad thing I may add, as she can conduct a nice vocal. It's the first time she has worked with Rene who has providing a memorably euphoric backdrop for her to shine.
:: Vocal Mix :: Dub mix
It wouldn't be the first time that a track by the DNS Project stands out but your in for a real treat with this one. The whole build up for the track gives nothing away to the powerful uplifting melody that gets unloaded as it comes to a head. The Vocal mix does this using the superb vocal harmonics from Lo-Fi Sugar to build up euphoric feeling on the build up. Not just with the main vocal but a nice effect driven vocal sample that’s pushed in over the percussion. The main beat is strong, hi hats and kicks add some edge to it but where the track takes off is from the break. Soothing strings change tone to build up the atmosphere with delicate keys adding depth and after the vocal feeds in a sweeping synth of sound it takes you into a truly uplifting melody. The melody is an outstanding piece of work from Rene and should raise the hairs on the back of the neck without a doubt. I'm sure many may well slate the vocal for being wishy washy nonsense but I don’t mind it, if you do, then the Dub takes care of that.
Conclusion:
There may not be much of support with mixes on this release but it doesn’t need any, not a chance of this one dropping under the force of gravity. Quite a superb uplifting track from DNS Project with a smooth vocal and a dub for those who just want the uplift without the voice. This one should be out in the next week or so and I'd highly recommend you check it out!
