 One of the outright legends within the electronic dance music scene is back with a brand new artist collection this summer. Mauro Picotto is about to unload the new 'album'...
If you thought Mauro Picotto has been a little bit on the quiet side with his releases over the past year then this will explain why. When he's not out jetting around on his private yacht or entertaining thousands of music thirsty clubbers around the globe he's been in the studio working on this new album for 2010. It will be his first album release in almost seven years, not counting his mix compilations. His last major artist collection came with 'The Others' back in 2003. Since then he has had a string of successful single releases and been over in Ibiza for the past few summers promoting his 'Meganite' club night. Mauro will be back with Meganite this year every Thursday at Space and will be on tour around the globe promoting his brand new artist album '2010'.
The fine details on his new artist LP are under wraps a little still but he has just released the first single from it called 'Arrival'. Check out his new track on YouTube, its a slamming piece of driving progressive techno with a remix from Gennaro Le Fosse who has been involved within the techno scene for over two decades. The feedback from the new single has been very good with support from the likes of Nick Warren, Adam Beyer, Dave Seaman and Danny Tenaglia. There has been a very limited edition 2010 sampler released which I have managed to track down on a few vinyl stores with new tracks from the album 'Arrival', 'Delicious', 'Cold Blood' and '2010'.
The album has been stated to be out this month but no firm date let slip as yet. You can check Mauro's MySpace for extra previews for more of the tracks on 2010. This looks set to be one album, when it drops, you will need to catch!
