The latest weapon of beautifully choreographed progressive audio has left Silk Records headquarters and it’s from the very talented Schodt. This one is worth paying attention to…

It's yet another audio piece of gold to come from the silkily smooth headquarters of Silk Records today with a brand new release from their in house talent Schodt. This very talented Dane has already had a previous smash on the label with 'You & Me' earlier in the year and he's back with a vocal beauty entitled 'White Tiger'. The blend of music that Silk promotes fits perfectly with the progressive mix of house and trance Schodt delivers with his productions. For this new one, he has the vocals of his finance Aida Fenhel who has put her vocal talents to a few trance tracks before, none that I can recall. She's from the Ukrane and the two met while working on a project together. It's a very fruitful partnership because the mix with 'White Tiger' is blended perfectly. He's joined by a few friends for this one though, UK producer Matt Lange, who should really get more praise for the music he's produced, and Mango who hails from Russia.

:: Matt Lange Remix
:: Schodt 'M1dn1t3' Mix

Schodt has really come up with the goods for this new track. It’s sloped in between the progressive melodies of trance and deep moody beats of house. You can’t really call it one or the other but it’s a record that’s topped with emotional atmosphere. The main beat is soft to the touch but packs a deep punch with delicate keys building up a dreamy feel to the intro. The vocal adds to the sweeping effect the underlining melodies do in the background. On the lead it’s a deeply driven bass chord that packs the punch low end before a sensationally emotional break. The keys are sweet and sensual with delicate percussion swept in. It’s the dreamy, echo infused keys and chords that surround the rear end of the vocal that drive the emotion through the track. It’s a record to sit back and truly enjoy, progressively built up and adds layers as it flows along. Schodt’s piano keys on the second break are a very welcome touch. If this does not get onto an Anjunadeep compilation in the near future I would be very surprised, it’s got that sound which fits that brand perfectly. The vocal mix from Schodt is also complimented by his ‘M1dn1t3 Mix’ which is really just a dub if you want all the joy of the instrumental. For me though, I would have the vocal as it adds that extra element to make everything else work.

The remixes are very strong to, as you would expect with a talent like Matt Lange on the case. His mix takes on a differing progressive vibe from the original. It goes a little deeper and drops rolling beat half way through a bar. It’s almost as if the beat is throbbing at you and is a tasty touch on the lead. Pushing underneath that a bass tone that is deeply inviting and added mid range claps to give it some punch. He’ make great use of the vocal leading up, almost sampling it into a synth effect which sweeps into the main break. The break from matt here is rich with emotion to, great atmospheric builds and sweeps but just as it builds he drops it back into the hypnotic beat. Mango has really stripped things down for his mix. It’s a simple, no nonsense progressive blend of nicely worked chords and uplifting strings. The beat is strong and not aided by two much low end but just a simple driving chord and the vocal in full on the lead. It just builds and builds though and you only get the break late on in the record, it’s a short one and touches up with a piano key while the chords build back up. Smooth punchy stuff from mango and as ever an intriguing remix from Matt.

Conclusion:
Schodt's White Tiger is an irresistible progressive blend of electronic emotion from a producer who does it best. For the relaxing style of trance and house mixed up into its own progressive sub genre look no further. Good remix support to from Matt Lange and Mango offering something different from the dreamy original that’s got a real twinkle in its eye.
