One of the highlights from the artist releases last year would surly be Dash Berlin's debut album 'The New Daylight'. Good news for fans of it then is the remix edition is out next week and you can preview all the tracks here...
The remixed album concept has really took off over the past two years with it now being almost customary for an artist to deliver a remixed edition of his finest solo work. That is not really a bad thing as it does bring out a lot of great new music and tear the originals apart inserting a new style from the original. Dash Berlin has had a very fruitful 2009 and 2010 so far with his debut artist release ‘The New Daylight’ and his mix compilation ‘United Destinations’ going down well with the trance public. His debut LP was a very good one with classic hits like ‘Till The Sky Falls Down’ (A track for me that really got me looking more into Dash Berlin the artist) and more recent singles ‘Man On The run’. He has already had a new single taken from the album with ‘Never Cry Again’ and his remake of an old Solid Session track ‘Janeriro’.
You would not be wrong in initially thinking Dash Berlin is just the one man, but the fact is it is the combination of three, Eelke Kalberg, Jeffrey Sutorius & Sebastiaan Molijn. The production team behind Dash Berlin are Eelke Kalberg and Sebastiaan Molijn who have been involed on the dance scene for many years now and produced for the likes of the Vengaboys, Candee Jay and Alice Deejay. Not artists that any well educated dance fan would have any respect for in regards to musical talent I’m sure, but cheese of a 90’s nature that’s good for karaoke’s. The pair also produced as Solid Sessions so now you can understand why they did a remake of the track ‘Janeiro’ for Dash Berlin. The front man of the group, who you see splash over the cover who gives the impression of being Mr Dash Berlin, is the DJ Jeffrey Sutorius who mixed the compilation released for the group. While all three have been involved with the production of their superb debut album, the new remix album however, they have left to their fellow dance music peers.
Those would include Signum, Josh Gabriel, First State, Arctic Moon and Paul Trainer with just a slight hint of Dash Berlin featuring a ‘4AM’ mix of their previously unreleased track ‘Wired’. The very kind people over at Armada have published short previews of the new mixes on their YouTube channel which you can check out below:
