© JOOF RecordingsThe third artist album from John OO Fleming and The Digital Blonde under their OO.db aliases nearly snuck under the radar undetected. Its trance with as pure as you can get it from two legends on the scene...

What happens when two great musically inspired minds get together in the studio? It can only be OO.db. The brainchild of two very well known and respected veterans of the electronic music scene John OO Fleming and The Digital Blonde. They have been working together for years and last year brought us their superb artist album 'Heaven & Hell', which did not get a lot of press. For shame on the press, because it should have. The same goes for their second artist collection as OO.db which they like to call 'Angels & Demons'. You see the theme in album title's there? Good and bad it may boil down to but you will only get one of those with a new album from OO.db and that's good.

One of the main highlights for the new album is it has been crafty together from scratch, you wont find any sample indulgences here because this has come from the inner minds of John OO Fleming and The Digital Blonde. It’s a feature the pair are very proud to point out and one with the vast production talent they have one they can execute to perfection.

“Were from a generation of producers who create our own sounds from scratch. Ricky and I create each and every sound ourselves making our tracks unique to us. We don’t use sample libraries or pre-set sound banks.”

“Angels & Demons personifies a serious, more pure version of the trance genre and varies between a very deep and progressive 125BPM up to a full on pounding 145BPM.

We wanted to create an album where you could play a whole DJ set. We’ve also created DJ tools, which simply put, is where we use our own track elements to rest the dance floor or bridge the genres, this is the beauty of having a DJ program as one of the team.

It’s a movie length emotional musical odyssey in which we set out to write one chill track, not realising it would run for one hour! It really embodies us as producers and demonstrates another side to what we can do away from dance music.”

    John OO Fleming
It’s not as if we need any more evidence that these two have an immense talent for writing music that is as fresh and pure as music could ever be. The ever formulated formula for trance music is one that OO.db smash to pieces and come up with a new sound that has its own identity. An interesting note about the album is it will be available, like the last, as a USB memory stick, as well as CD and digital media. The move to digital media is one that John has recently gone full tilt having hung up his CD wallets and embraced the new technology featured on the Pioneer CDJ2000’s, a player he helped develop. You can read all about that in his latest blog on his official site, its well worth a read as John is one of the most opinionated chaps the scene has ever witness.

One note is that this will be released as twin disc album if your getting the CD version, at the time of writing this I do not know the split between the two discs but it certainly wont be 17 tracks to just the one!
