The annual Sunrise Festival in Poland is now well over, and while the last tones of the festival sounds is fading out and the experiments is over, you now have the opportunity to have some of it back in form of the double cd compilation from High Contrast where 2 of the dj’s that performed at this years editon ahs mixed a cd for your ears pleassure and to capture some of the spirit of this festival, the 2 discs are mixed by Cliff Coenraad and Hardwell.
In the trance corner Cliff Coenraad is in charge of things, and he was also the man behind this years theme track to the Sunrise Festival, called ‘Massive’. Cliff has in relatively short time settled his name in the trance scene, both as a dj and producer, an his releases and remixes are always well received and impressive to the people on the scene and the listeners.
Cliff kick things off with the ‘3 producer flower’ team Nic Chagall, Rank 1 and Wippenberg who delivers a great and pumping progressive trance track on ‘100’ and starting of the mix really nice and groovy. And from there you’re well kept and hold in the safe dj hand of Cliff, and he impresses you with an surprising, innovative, strong and tight mix, where he mixes and moves across various electronic genres with a nice flow and strong tightness between the 16 tracks he has putted together on disc 1. On top of that he spices up the mix very nice with a lot of new and unknown names and tracks like Justin Feriér- ’Feel The Love’ in a massive Pacific & Vandyck remix, Christian Fischer- ’Wildsleep’ and Wezz Devall- ’Free My Willy’ in one of his own Repimps and Evol Waves- ’Hourglass’, tracks that really surprises me and moves you, while we also gets well known tracks from the likes of Eddie Sender, Marco V, Dave Schiemann and Cliff himself.
A tight, energetic and really cool mix Cliff has putted together here, and you sit back with a feeling and wishes about that it could only been better seeing him live making some dance floor action behind the cd players, cause this man is surely a dj who can rocks a party and a dance floor.
With the trance part well settled and showcased by Cliff, we throw cd 2 in the player where another dutchman, Hardwell, is ready to take care of things in the house corner. Cause the Sunrise Festival is as much about house as it is about trance.
Hardwell start things of with one of his own ’productions’ so to say, Red Carpet feat. Hardwell and ‘Allright 2010’, who rocks on from the beginning with some fat house sounds and smooth rythmes and topped with a very nice piano break, and with the cool vocals it sets the atmosphere right from the beginning. From there on the seatbealt is fasten secured by Hardwell as he takes you on a delicious and rocking travel through the world of sounds, effects and elements in the house stuff. With safe hand and again on cd 2 a fantastic choice of tracks Hardwell also delivers a tight and beautiful mix with awesome moments and tracks that just puts you in the right mood of summertime, and you can’t avoid to get a smile on your face as he suits us with tracks like Marco V. feat Khashassi- ’Scenaraio’ in the Daniel Portman remix, Big World feat. Markus Binapfl- ’Quadrillon’ in a Moguai remix, Wippenberg- ’Drumster’ or the finishing track, the ‘happy and joyful’ house track ‘Cookies With A Smile’ from Dada Life.
Again on cd 2 you get a really delicious mix with a excellent track choice and flow, and also this mix puts on the right festival mood with some beautiful house tunes, no matter if the party is situated in the living room, on the terrace or the beach!

Conclusion: Two very strong and solid mixes from Cliff and hardwell, and definetaly a great compilation to use as a late summer soundtrack in my opinion.
