Don't be fooled by our press picture of Roger, he's not spending all his time soaking up the gorgeous sunshine while on tour around the globe. The master of the Balearic sound is very much hard at work on a new Sunlounger album and working on the very first ‘Magic Island’ concert which will take his live performances to another world. He is also running a remix competition for his new single under his Sunlounger alias which we brought news of earlier this week and you can find the details, in case you forgot, right here again along with all the very latest Shah related mumblings.

Sunlounger Remix Competition... Now Open!

In advance of the release of the new album (late summer/early fall, 2010) Magic Island are launching a stellar Sunlounger remix competition! Between now and the 30th of September the parts for 3 new Roger Shah Pres. Sunlounger tracks will be available on the server for electronic musicians of all denominations to download. You can get a hold of them right away from this link. If you’re a studio-hound with ‘the right stuff’, and the will to use it, and you’d like to see your name alongside Roger’s on a forthcoming SL release your time to shine is NOW! Power up those studio boxes, put your PC into overdrive and get to work on a remap of ‘Son of a Beach’, ‘Trademark White’ or ‘Acapulco Waves’. Once you’re convinced you have created a remix masterpiece send a link for it to remix@magicislandmusic.com.

All entries need to be in before the 30th September 2010 and the victors will be contacted shortly thereafter. Good luck to you all!

Roger Pres. Sunlounger ‘Breaking Waves’ Out Now

The pairing of Roger Shah and Inger Hansen are back on the frontlines this month thanks to the melodic mellifluence of the new Sunlounger single ‘Breaking Waves’. Having already scored a club-hopping smash with the transcendent ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’, producer and vocalist were determined to show that lightning could strike twice. Alongside the Balearically-minded original, remixes come from Dutch trance overlord Richard Durand and Georgia’s own Nuera. Across the mix range DJ support has come fast from the likes of Markus Schulz, Judge Jules, Dash Berlin, Ashley Wallbridge, Andy Moor, Pedro del Mar, Bobina, Guiseppe Ottaviani, & DJ Feel all giving it a healthy hammering club-side. DJ Mag 2010 Poll – Voting Enters Its 2nd Month

Voting has entered its second month in the biggest dance music poll of the year. If you’ve not yet placed your vote, now is probably as good a time as any! In 2009 Roger was delighted to make a formidable 37 place jump up to the no.21 position. It’s technically impossible for him to do the same this year (!) but we’d certainly love to see him rise up again. So if you’ve been out and about, seen Roger play, picked up one of the albums, compilations or Magic Island releases or enjoyed the radio show over the last 12 months and felt like popping his name in one of those ballot boxes, well you know it'll put a smile on his face! Roger Shah: In Concert

Roger is pleased to announce the next elevation to his on-stage performances this month with first details of Magic Island: In Concert. Featuring the label’s best known, leading-vocal-lights live on stage, the Balearic king will ringmaster the six hour Mexico-based spectacular in an immense inflatable club dome. Over its course Inger Hansen ('‘Don’t Wake Me Up’), Zara Taylor (‘Lost’ / ’Found'), Adrina Thorpe (‘Who Will Find Me’ / ’Back To You’), Lorilee (‘You’re So Cool’ & ‘I’m Not God’), and Chris Jones (‘Going Wrong’ / ‘To The Sky’) will all add their unique voices to the ultimate Magic Island sound experience.
