It wont be long until Armada takes over the world at this rate having welcomed Paul van Dyk''s VANDIT label on their books last month. Now they have tempted Paul Oakenfold to follow suit with his Perfecto label...
It's been quite a few months for Armin's Armada network with the partnership formed with Paul van Dyk to take his VANDIT label to Armada made just over a month ago. Since then they have been releasing just about anew record each week and the new VANDIT catalogue count is now up to number five already. Following suit by taking his label to Armada is UK legend Paul Oakenfold who has teamed up his ‘Perfecto Records’ label with Armada, which should see some exciting new releases from the label and gain more exposure for one of the scene most well recognised labels.
The first of which will be a brand new Paul Oakenfold single called ‘Firefly’, a collaboration with UK singer Matt Goss who used to be the lead singer of 80’s pop group ‘Bros’. if you don’t know the band and need a little reminder then one of their biggest hits ‘When Will I Be Famous’ should dust the cobwebs of that memory. I think Matt’s haircut has drastically improved since that music video. Don’t expect the new single to be anything like that classic piece of 80’s pop, it will be a full on club record in Paul’s very polished production style. Have a sneak listen to a preview to see for yourself right here.
Paul had a few words to say about this new venture with a label he founded way back in 1989. “ ”I’m really happy to be involved in this joint venture with Armada. I think they are one of the most cutting edge electronic labels out there and I look forward to a fruitful relationship””
Following on from his single there will be releases for Robert Vadney and Kenneth Thomas coming soon as well as a brand new Perfecto compilation and a Perfecto classics album. The classics should dig up all the best Perfecto releases from over the years. It’s another coup for Armada who continue to grow as one of the biggest brands on the electronic dance music market. Who will take their label to them next I wonder?
