If you don't go out on a Friday night and are not one of the many online gamers battering the joy pad’s until the early hours you might be at a bit of a loose end. Radio 1 do a good job to ease things by bringing the party to your home with a non stop dance marathon every Friday night from 7PM. One of the shows that have been on the schedule for many years now is the 'Essential Mix'. A weekly showcase of the biggest dance music talent from the around the world from every genre you could name off the top of your head. Just about every established name has delivered a mix for the show over the years like Paul van Dyk, Nick Warren, Sasha, John Digweed and Tiesto. It’s not just a show that picks out the most established names as they showcase brand new talent that is on the rise within the dance music scene.

One name that’s certainly is on the rise is one Marcus Schossow, who after delivering his debut artist album ‘Outside The Box’ last year has not been resting on the success but making more waves on the dance music scene this year. He must be if the likes of Radio 1 want him to drop an ‘Essential Mix’ out for their legendary show aired each Friday (Technically Saturday morning) at 3AM, hosted by Pete Tong. Well, they did and his show aired this past week to highlight just what the Marcus Schossow sound is all about.

"It's an complete honour the join the ranks of the world's best dj's, and it makes it even better getting the request from Pete Tong himself. Im really glad that all my hard work being persistant having a versatile sound finally getting recognition from the world's biggest radio station and mix show.
