Those of you with a good memory will remember track of the same name by John Askew. Well, it’s not a remake, but a brand new double disc compilation from John coming your way this November...
There is little messing about when it comes to John Askew. He's an artist, producer and DJ who for the last 10 yeas has drive the trance scene forward with not only his own records but the releases through his very own Discover label, run along with Chris Hampshire. While I'm sure he's working on a new artist album his new project is not to far on the horizon. 'Skylab' is the first in a brand new series of compilations from John on Enhanced Recordings, the label run by Will Holland. One of the biggest names in trance collides yet again with one of the most forward thinking labels from the UK who are no stranger to putting together a compilation themselves.
John has been a supporter of the Enhanced label for many years as well as being a regular on labels like Subculture, Vandit, Captivating Sounds, Monster and his very own Discover. His pure approach when it comes to trance has given him a very distinctive sound over the past decade and this compilation shares the same name of an early John Askew record released back in 2003. That may well just be coincidence in the name title as there is no new remake of ‘Skylab’ in here. What is in here, is 42 of the finest trance cuts John can put his hands on at the moment mixed together as only John does. You might look at how many tracks spread each disc but as with any John mix, he strips out the chaff and leaves in the wheat. If John Askew did diet’s it would probably be the best diet in the world.
Aside from new tracks from John you will find records in here from the likes of Simon Patterson, Adam Foley, Activa, Gary Maguire, Tom Colontonio, Substate, and Indecent Noise. No space for long intro’s or outro’s with the two mixes here, just pure pounding trance melodies and beats.
