The album Crash and Burn! is now being re-released for the younger generations to enjoy. Originally released in 2000 to wide critical acclaim, this was Eat Static's 8th studio album and was a triumphant return for the band, marking a radical new direction.
Back in 2009 Eat Static (Merv Pepler and Joie Hinton) re-released the 2 cd album Prepare your Spirit, originally released on cassette in 1992 and on cd in 2000. After the success with this one we now see the re-release of Crash and Burn!
Crash and Burn! uses lots of live instrumentation and the various tracks mix many genres into a new and unique style. It is an eclectic and at times exotic blend of trance, lounge, world beat, tribal, house and even some breakbeat grooves, combined with elements borrowed from both Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.
If you haven't allready got it in your collection, now you have a new chance as it's being released worldwide on November 25th.
Background: Merv Pepler and Joie Hinton started collaborating back in 1988, and from 1990 they were known as Eat Static. From the early 90's they made their way from Somerset to the whole wide world in just a few years, being one of the biggest British electronic music acts, often compared to others like The Prodigy, Underworld, Orbital, Aphex Twin and Leftfield.
