It's the final update of 2010 from the master of the Balearic sound Roger Shah. He's up for an IDMA award next year and has a new single taken from his Sunlounger album out right now...
If you have yet to find the perfect audio stocking filler for your loved ones this Christmas then may I suggest you shove Roger Shah's latest Sunlounger album down it. 'The Beach Side of Life' is the most relaxed Sunlounger album to date with two sides to the coin, both equally engaging as each other. One of his tracks from the album has just made it out as a single with ‘Beautiful Night’ and has some heavyweight electronic remix talent accompanying Roger’s flawless original. Read up on that and a special seasonal message from Roger himself below.
IDMAs 2011 Nominations – Closing Soon!
There are just four days left before the nominations round of the International Dance Music Awards 2011 closes. If you’ve felt the car speakers pop or the dancefloor rock to any of Roger’s productions or performances over the last 12 month’s we’d sure love you to nominate him in the appropriate category. And there are plenty to choose from – Best International DJ, Best European DJ, Best Label, Best Trance track being just a few of them! Head on over to the nominations page before the 23rd of December and have your say (you can leave as many categories blank as you like) and the runners and riders for the IDMA awards themselves will be announced in Jan. Gatecrasher Birmingham Debut
Back at the start of the month Roger made his debut in the hallowed halls of Gatecrasher Birmingham. Alongside Ferry Corsten, Marco V & Ronald van Gelderen, he opened up the doors and let the sunshine in with one of his trademark Balearically leaning sets. If you came out and saw him he’d like to say:
1) Big, BIG thanks! 2) He had one helluva night! 3) He hopes to see you all again soon!
You can check out some just-uploaded footage of the night here.
A Certainly 'Seasonal' Message From Roger!
"As I’m typing this I’m laid up, in bed! After an incredible year it’s not exactly where I saw myself spending the last weeks of 2010! However following the recent intensive schedule, I managed to pick up a nasty bug which combined with a severe case of post-tour exhaustion led to my doctor recommending/demanding a complete battery recharge. I would like to apologize to all my fans who were expecting to see me throughout the festive period - I’m as disappointed as you are that I’m not to be able to make it out there. I’d like though to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you very early in the New Year. Take care out there, Roger"
Sunlounger Feat Antonia Lucas – ‘Beautiful Night’
The latest alumni to graduate to single status from the ‘A Beach Side of Life’ album will be ‘Beautiful Night’. Featuring the powerful, reaching tones of Antonia Lucas, the track has been give the full extended Club Mix treatment by Roger and also comes fully equipped with killer remixes too. Regular Roger Shah fave Kim Svard has given it a fluid, coursing euphoric overhaul, while Ralph Fritsch’s 5am Sunrise mix does just what it says on the tin and brings home all those break-a-dawn vibes. Tying up the package is a tougher, techier slant from The Groove Guys and you can pick up the release in its full glory through the Armada webstore when it’s released next month.
