The Miami winter music conference is coming around fast and that means it's almost time for the 26th annual International Dance music Awards. The nominee's have been chosen and voting is open right now...
The dance music industry will be invading the sunny beaches of Miami for another year this coming March with industry insiders, promotion agency’s, booking agency’s, club brands, artists, DJ's, clubbers and anyone else with a thirst for this thing called EDM gathering together for a weekend. Most will say it’s a business opportunity to do some networking with fellow electronic music workers but the rest will be there for one big massive party. One thing which has been a part of the gathering for the past 26 year’s the annual International Dance Music Awards. It’s the mother ship of all industry polls with every angle relating to dance music covered.
Spread over 55 different categories toasting the best tracks of the past year, the best DJ from each continent of the globe and right down to the industry’s most favoured CD player. If you’ve made it to the shortlist on this annual poll then you’re doing something right. That shortlist has just been announced with the nominee’s for this year’s awards now open for you to go and vote. Of course you don’t have to vote in every category, I mean do you have a favourite R&B/Urban track from the past twelve months? I know I don’t, but that just gives you an idea of the pure spread of this poll as it spans through every dance music genre out there.
Up for nominations this year include Paul van Dyk, Arty, Tiesto, BT, Christopher Lawrence and Dave Aude just to name a few. It’s a shame that the podcast nominations don’t have Gareth Emery’s weekly show in there but Armin’s ASOT and Paul van Dyk’s VONYC Sessions go head to head for the top honours. It’s a poll that every artist and industry brand that gets nominated would like to win and an extra something to celebrate at the hundreds of parties kicking off in Miami during the 8th – 12th March.
:: Place your votes right here! (Closing date for submissions is the 18th February)
