© Chris GrabeicNot heard of a guy called Chris Grabiec yet? Well then, i'ts a good job we've brought back our Introducing feature as we drop you all the information you need to know on this promising trance producer from the UK as he prepares to drop his debut artist LP...

Chris Grabiec’s love for electronic dance music first started in the early 90’s when he was enticed by the UK underground rave/club scene.

After many nights out he was hooked on the music which led him to start learning how to mix. Not long after that he would go on to work during the weekends in a record shop based in Kingston-upon-Thames called Slamming Vinyl. Hanging out with many of the experienced DJs that visited the shop, he was quickly encouraged to start producing his own music. Chris then went on to produce a number of tracks and put them out on his own record labels (First Contact & 21st Century Recordings).

He also had the chance to play in countless clubs and underground rave parties.
A turn of events meant that Chris had to concentrate on other projects and due to the fact that he could not dedicate enough time to his craft, he had to make the difficult decision to bid farewell to music production and djing for a while, with the hope that one day he would return to the one thing that he was most enthusiastic about in his life.

Chris furthered his interest in dance music, hitting the clubs whenever possible and religiously paid an annual visit to the party island IBIZA. After experiencing many of the dance music genres over the years he was most drawn to Trance, and he closely followed the rise of today’s trance stars such as Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Paul van Dyk and many other elite names.

After a ten year break, in January 2009, it all kicked off once again when he resurrected his producing/djing career. Since then he has seen his productions grow from strength to strength and has moved forward with the ever-developing trance music scene.

THE YEAR THAT WAS 2010 FOR CHRIS GRABIEC

After teaming up with veteran producer Nat Clarkson he produced several tracks which he released on his new UK dance label “Dance Regime” (Also co-owned by Nat Clarkson).

Chris has collaborated with a number of talented singer/songwriters & vocalists such as Christina Nicola, Rachael Waldon, Roza Smart, James Stock and Phillip Browne. Chris spent 2010 writing and producing his debut artist album “Pride and Honour” (Due for release in early spring 2011). His time was spent either writing tracks in his West London based studio or producing and mixing at Nat Clarkson’s NJC studio in Suffolk. One of his highlights of 2010 was travelling to Amsterdam to attend the filming of his debut music video for the track “Protected” (Written with Christina Nicola) which he also appears in a cameo role.

It’s early January and this tenacious artist has already completed his first two tracks of 2011. With a second album being planned he continues his journey delving into the sound of uplifting and driving trance, honing into new techniques and styles of production. Chris Grabiec has now carved his own fresh and individual sound and is now on course to make a massive impact in the Trance music scene and he could not be happier, doing what he loves best and getting the chance to work with other like-minded artists.

He has accomplished a lot over the last two years, but the best is definitely still to come!

DEBUT ARTIST ALBUM: PRIDE AND HONOUR

Chris Grabiec has just completed his debut artist album entitled “Pride and Honour” which was Co-Produced and Mixed with long serving Music Producer Nat Clarkson aka NJC.

Chris took the unconventional approach of focussing on being a studio produced artist rather than the over populated route of establishing himself as a DJ. It was the obvious direction for him and made sense to focus on writing quality music with a view to completing the album.

The Album has taken Chris on an epic journey throughout the last 12 months. During the time spent producing the album some of the highlights were travelling to Amsterdam to film the video for the single “Protected” as well as working in Metropolis Studios and Sofa-sound Studios in London. Nat has helped Chris carve an individual sound and they have deliberately produced the album so it progresses in a natural way.

You enter the album with a soothing Breakbeat track at 132bpm that features real guitar and bass and exit with a 140 bpm peak time floor filler. The idea is to cater for wide selection of trance fans and give something a little different in between.

Chris has carefully introduced various elements from other genres and in doing so has evolved a fresh new sound in UK Trance, which is unique to him. This was important from the very beginning.

“I spent 2009 writing singles and released those throughout 2010 but there are so many Trance artists these days producing singles, so rather be a new artist totally lost in an already saturated market I decided to produce an album instead. I thought it would be much more meaningful and would also allow me to experiment with different sounds and explore other musical influences”

    Chris Grabiec
This is an 18 track album that takes you on a journey and not only do you get the music, Chris has also made the video and a digital booklet available as part of the album download on iTunes. As well as mostly exclusive tracks you will also find remixes of Chris’ favourite tracks of 2009 “Guardian Angel” and “Rescue Me”. He has also included original mixes of “Heart of Fire” and “Salvation” which were released in 2010.

This is a superb debut album that shows off Chris’ musical talent. Each track is different and one after another it cleverly builds. In addition to the music itself you can really hear the professional sheen that flows throughout the album, with flawless production and mixes, this album is set to turn heads throughout the world of Trance.

Chris Grabiec

For the last year Chris has spent countless hours in the studio putting together his debut album, ‘Pride and Honour’, set to be released in Spring 2011.

‘Pride and Honour’, introduces a vast array of styles and genres, which precociously sit tight within the main genre of Trance. By fine tuning and carefully honing his own style, Chris has managed to dissect the many popular trance elements we hear today, and breed a new arrangement of his very own; and in his new debut album that clearly shines through.
