For those of you who miss the old "chipsounds" from early computer, The Greatest Bits have modernized them and put them into his Mega Man 2 album.
The Greatest Bits (1978) is a Dutch DJ/Producer and musician who played in various bands for half of his life. The other half was mostly spent playing games like Super Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Country, Mega Man, Tetris, Street Fighter and so on. The music of Mega Man 2 inspired The Greatest Bits so much that he released a tribute album to the game. The Greatest Bits combines 21st century top class sound production with the unique sound and feel of the original "chipsounds" from the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The result is a chiptune crossover style that combines the best of both worlds.
The Mega Man 2 video game is critically acclaimed to have one of the best video game music soundtracks ever composed. American magazine Game Informer listed the title theme of Mega Man 2 as "one of the five best video game openings of all time". Game Developer Magazine states that the music from Mega Man 2 should be an example to today's video game music developers because of its strong and recognizable melodies.
