The very latest mid spring news from Leon Bolier with a preview of his second edition of his 'Streamlined' compilation and two new singles to check out...
He's just back from a massive gig for Armin with his 'A State of Trance 500' celebrations but there is no rest bite for Leon Bolier as we head into summer. He's due back at London's very famous Gallery night at the Ministry of Sound but before that he is due to debut at the very legendary Technoclub in Germany. It’s been the home of icon Talla 2XlC for over twenty years and has just moved venue in recent weeks. The fun still takes place in its familiar surroundings of Frankfurt though. We will have an interview with Leon coming your way in the next few days to ask him about his thoughts on the club and a general catch up. There are lots of things to catch up on, new singles, compilations and a whole lot more.
From Cape Town To ‘Cape Town’ – The New Single
It’s the closing note to one colossal weekend in April - Leon’s new single ‘Cape Town’ hits download stores today (April 26th). Here's the man himself to tell you all about it: “Just before heading off to South Africa for the first leg of Armin van Buuren's ASOT 500 celebration, I finished this new track so I could test it out and showcase it to the world during the celebration. In Cape Town I dropped it for the crowd and Armin switched to the main room live-stream on the radio while I was playing. Later on Armin and Ruben (from Armada’s A&R team) asked what the official title was, so they could put it in the official tracklisting. That's when we decided to give the track the title 'Cape Town'! The track quickly went on to become Tune of the Week on ASOT and all in all has been played an incredible 10 times during the ASOT celebrations. You can get a quick peek at Leon hammering ‘Cape Town’ out at recent gigs by pointing your mouse here or tuck the track fairly and squarely into your mp3 folder (thru Beatport) there.
Debuts & Returns In May @ Technoclub and The Gallery
In and amongst a hectic mid-spring gig schedule (full details of which are dutifully submitted below!) Leon has a couple of super-hot/can’t-miss European dates on May's radar. On the 7th he’ll be at Club Monza, for the legendary, the incomparable, the one-‘n-only (!) Technoclub in Frankfurt, Germany. In trance music’s spiritual heartland he’ll be headlining the night and playing alongside resident Talla 2XLC and the UK’s Temple One. Then on May 20th its the big return - The Gallery, who will again be playing host to L.B. as he rocks it south of the river style in old/(new) London town!
Leon Bolier vs Joop – Absolut
Following ‘Fly Back To Her’ - their last production trip together - Leon has re-teamed with Joop for another white-knuckle, beats, bass ‘n synth tear-up. ‘Absolut’ (possibly inspired by events related to sipping heavily on the fabled titular drink) has been heavily adopted by the trance spinning elite and created all kinds of club heat in the process. It’s out on High Contrast now and you can check it on YouTube here or just trust the voice inside your mind that sayzzz: ‘get that in my collection now!’
Streamlined II Preview
After the success of his first Streamlined compilation a successor was a certainty. The only question was.... when!! Well the answer is a teasing but not totally specific: ‘pretty damn soon’! Leon has already put a preview for Streamlined Pt 2 online, showing him working on tracks that he’s looking to include. You can get a glimpse behind the curtain and see what he’s up to right below:

Reviped – the gosh-darn hippest new electronic music website on the interweb in the last 12 months – has tapped Leon up to become one of their columnists. His first mind-musings/mashings have just been published and will give you an excellent insight into not just Leon’s brainium, but also that of the international jet-setting spin-merchant (DJ!). As our planet Earth tumbles wildly through space (albeit in a ever-dependable geosynchronous orbit around the Sun) it’s reassuring to know that the radio arm of Streamlined is reaching out to every corner of it.
Keeping you up to date with all that’s right in electronic dance music, you can catch this broadcast on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month between the hours of 19.00 and 20.00 CET through ah.fm. Once you’ve listened you can head off to bed safe in the knowledge that everything’s really going to be…alright!
