‘Biggest Trance Hits Ever’ is a tribute to the first 10 years after the global Trance explosion, after three Dutch artists ignited the fuse at the end of the last millennium.
These 45 tracks show the evolution of a euphoric musical style, one that developed itself from the Netherlands into a global style of music.
The Dutch label High Contrast Recordings set the standard during these golden years of Trance, thanks to a series of highly influential producers in their artist stable. As a part of Be Yourself Music - itself coming from ID&T’s record division - the High Contrast Recordings label was an immediate seal of quality when it launched in 2005.
Flagship Rank 1 had their worldwide breakthrough in 2000 with the heavenly ‘Airwave’, the current number 2 in the ASOT Top 1000. After this unforgettable track, they honored Trance pioneers Cygnus X with brilliant remixes of ‘The Orange Theme’ and ‘Superstring’.
The Belgian success team Svenson & Gielen launched a track of dreams in 2000 with ‘The Beauty of Silence’ and gathered worldwide appreciation again a couple of years later with Airscape’s ‘Sosei’. In 2000 Tech-Trance master Marco V also introduced his famous V-Sound with the dance-floor smash ‘In Charge’, which would be followed up by tracks like ‘Indicator’ and ‘Solarize’.
Halfway through the last decade new heroes like Marcel Woods (‘Advanced’) and Ronald van Gelderen (‘Cold Storage’) dominated, while label-mates Ernesto vs. Bastian (‘Darkside of the Moon’), JOOP (‘Act of God’), Svenson (‘Sunlight Theory’) and Danjo and Styles (‘Duende’) were the label’s strongest cards in the deck.
‘Biggest Trance Hits Ever’ is a musical trip down memory lane starting at that unforgettable year 2000. This CD contains countless classics from the rich archive of High Contrast Recordings, next to timeless tracks from great producers like Ali Wilson, Gareth Emery, Mohawk, Nenes and Pascal Feliz, Tom Wax and Boris Alexander, Dyor, Anton Sonin and Amx feat. Sari, Ambassador, Tritonal, Jonah, Out of Grace, Woodshokk and more.
‘Biggest Trance Hits Ever’ will be in stores from May 20th.
