 It’s that time of year again, when every DJ starts to bombard you with their plea for a vote in the annual DJ Mag Top 100 poll. Who will be toasted as the magazine's best in the world for 2011? Voting is now open...
It’s the poll that every DJ wants to be towards the top of and the one which gains the most press coverage from around the globe. It is of course DJ Mag’s annual top 100 compiling a century of electronic artists, DJ’s and producers in you order of preference. It’s been a poll, that for the past four years Armin van Burren has been impossible to shift from the top spot – and they say trance is dead? Over the past decade the number one spot has been a trance hotspot with the likes of Paul van Dyk and Tiesto hitting the number 1 spot. Who will it be this year?
The voting has already begun for the 2011 vote and this is where you come in to put forward your five favourite DJ’s from over the past twelve months. They can be anybody so don’t feel restricted to just the last artist who put out a good track because this poll is about the DJ. With so many new faces and names on the scene this year could well see an influx of new entries. Those high up in the poll last year will be looking to climb the ladder even more as every DJ wants to put where they are on the DJ Mag Top 100 on their CV.
I’m not sure when the poll closes but it will be open for you to vote in for at least the next four weeks. They have had thousands of votes cast already and the poll has only been going for 24 hours. This year could see a record number of voters going to the DJ Mag polls to praise their five favourite electronic icons.
