Since they skyrocketed straight into the DJ Mag Top 100 last year, Showtek has been taking over the world of late. Their star was already rising, with two artist albums to date, their mind-blowing FTS Tour, numerous awards and an uncountable number of gigs all over the world, but 2011 truly took them to unprecedented heights.
Being tremendously thankful to their fans for their everlasting support, Showtek produced a special fan-dedicated track as a token of appreciation. %u2018Dirty Hard%u2019 can be downloaded for free on www.facebook.com/showtekofficial.
With a sold-out FTS show at the O2 Academy (UK) fresh on their minds, the brothers Wouter and Sjoerd Janssen kicked 2011 off right by co-headlining Deadmau5%u2019s Mau5querade ball in Canada. Their unique and universal Showtek sound rocked the newborn crowd of ravers and revelers. Being true internationally recognized artists, Showtek unfortunately had to reject some festival requests and the hardest to turn down was definitely their old love %u2018Defqon.1 Festival%u2019. It was an undeniable tough choice: Electronic Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas was held at the same date. But the actual sandstorm created by the guys, while closing this world-famous event that attracted more than 230000 visitors, showed nobody could hold their decision against them.
Billboard, the world's premier music publication, rated Showtek's performance as one of the 10 highlights of EDC, among others such as Tiësto, David Guetta and Swedish House Mafia. EDM Magazine devoted their June/July cover to Showtek, solidifying their already growing North American presence. Luckily, homeland Holland won%u2019t have to wait long to have their heroes back in their midst: they host their own %u2018Showtek Presents Dutch Master Works%u2019 stage at this year%u2019s Dance Valley and will play main stage at the Dutch organized Q-BASE festival.
The latter half of 2011 might even be a bigger rollercoaster, including a gig at Full on Ferry in Ibiza, private jet weekend trips, insane shows all over the world and much more to come. It should come as no surprise that the energy behind Showtek will continue to catapult these guys into the EDM spotlight they deserve. If you want to keep this crazy ride going, please support Showtek by voting for them in this year%u2019s DJ Mag Top 100 poll.
