Introducing a new Dutch imprint: Rub A Duck. The new label fully focuses on the release of dubstep, electro and rave.
The first single to appear on Rub A Duck is from the world famous U.K. act Freestylers and Joshua Steele, entitled “Frozen”.
Freestylers, aka Matt Cantor and Aston Harvey have been active in the industry for more than fifteen years and are best known for their singles “Push Up” and “Ruffneck”. “Frozen” is backed by the elevating vocals of Joshua Steele aka Flux Pavillion, well known from the woofer-shredding hit “Bass Cannon”. Supported by a truly unique video, “Frozen” proves to be the ultimate track to represent the perfect combination of big, hammering dubstep breaks and vocals, leading to an addictive chorus that screams chart potential. Freestylers’ appearance on Annie Mac’s hailed radio show for BBC Radio1 last month only added more to that notion. Rub A Duck releases the single on August 15th. Cookie Monsta, “known to bring the most barbaric grime that has ever faced humankind”, did the remix. The follow up single by Freestylers, including remixes, is already in the works.
Rub A Duck will also release a single by grime and dubstep pioneer MRK1. Other acts from the young Dutch producer Jelle Boon, the Indian act Piyush Bhatnagar and the English Hectic will also appear on the label. The imprint offers a solid platform for both young talents as the known names in the field of dubstep, electro and rave.
The worldwide distribution for Rub A Duck is in hands of Black Hole Recordings.
