For the better part of a decade, Arnej Šećerkadić has been an unfathomable creative force in the studio. Whether it is producing spine-tingling orchestral pieces or devilishly techy and intricate grooves, he continues to dominate progressive trance, having honed his own dark, signature sound. From producing the epic orchestral “Heroes of Newerth’ game soundtrack to churning out masterfully composed harmonies under his Arnej and 8 Wonders monikers, his work has proven to be a sonic treat for fans worldwide.

Keen to spread his wings further, this ever versatile Bosnian/Canadian producer is now at the helm of his own pioneering label, Arnej Music. For the label’s debut release, Arnej teamed up with vocalist Sally Saifi to create ‘Free Of You’, a progressive gem which received heavy support from fans and the most respected of DJs. Subsequent Arnej releases in the form of ‘Through The Darkness’ and ‘X’ (under the 8 Wonders alias) have set the bar and now it is time to unveil Arnej Music’s debut compilation. ‘The First Chapter’ of this fresh new compilation series, ‘Musical Evolution’ is sure to command attention.

After a rigorous search, Arnej has unearthed 19 riveting tracks featuring influences from minimal, techno, glitchhop and many other subgenres of EDM, showcasing the true spirit of this colossal compilation. From the bleak soundscapes of ‘Overture’, which was exclusively composed by Arnej for this cd, to the panoramic range of electronic music created by some of the most exceptional producers in the scene and many never-before-heard talents, it is clearly the most diverse trance compilation of recent times. Exquisitely chosen works by rising stars Grube & Hovsepian, KhomHa and Dyor sit alongside works by heavyweights Bobina and Leon Bolier contributing to a staggering 15 exclusives. As you might expect, ‘The First Chapter’ also includes a plethora of new Arnej material including a new single, a collaboration with Orjan Nilsen and a fresh Arnej club mix of Ernesto & Bastian’s evergreen classic ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’. Ranging from progressive to tech-house to uplifting trance, an electronic blizzard awaits you this Fall as ‘Musical Evolution’ is poised to take the world of progressive trance by storm.

Arnej has created some of the most memorable progressive trance tracks in recent years with releases such as the stunning ‘Dust In The Wind’ and the anthemic ‘Strangers We’ve Become’ with talented songstress Josie. Boasting remix credits for artists such as The Thrillseekers, Cosmic Gate andBlake Jarrell, he has proven himself as a highly regarded and innovative producer. Prior to forming his own record label, Arnej was one of the stars of progressive trance’s most prolific label Coldharbour Recordings, under the colossal Armada Music powerhouse.

Championing the progressive sound, Arnej’s music has seen him play to crowds across the globe, all the while amassing a dedicated and passionate fanbase. In 2010 he became the second highest ranked DJ in the Western Hemisphere, as voted in the prestigious DJ Mag Top 100 poll. Having been dubbed Armin van Buuren’s favourite producer and securing a “Best New Artist” award at the International Dance Music Awards, it would appear that Arnej Šećerkadić is immerging as a force to be reckoned with. ‘Musical Evolution: The First Chapter’ is sure to be another string to Arnej’s perfectly tuned bow.
