 House and techno’s biggest unsung heroes, Pig&Dan, are to release their new artist album, ‘Then & Now’ on legendary Washington D.C. label, Yoshitoshi...
Released on 12th September in mixed and unmixed formats, the two-disc album is a musical journey of ‘Then’ and ‘Now’, straddling the sounds of dark house and high energy techno for which the pair have become infamous.
Pig&Dan a.k.a Igor Tchkotoua and Dan Duncan met on a flight to Spain in 1999 and quickly developed a musical partnership that has seen them gain a worldwide fanbase including such influential names as Sven Vath, Loco Dice, Anthony Pappa, M.A.N.D.Y, Deep Dish, Sander Kleinenberg and more, with releases on leading labels such as Cocoon and of course Yoshitoshi.
The album is a collection of pulsating electronic tracks, looking both forwards and backwards at Pig&Dan’s musical output and featuring a handful of collaborations from the likes of Underworld and Namito that have already gained support from such luminaries as James Zabiela and Wally Lopez.
‘Then’ features Pig&Dan classic releases on the Yoshitoshi imprint, including their WMC stormer, ‘Detonate’, and also their unreleased 'Moog Remix' of the seminal Eddie Amador classic, ‘House Music’, which has been heavily supported and saluted by the likes of Tom Novy and Anderson Noise.
‘Now’ is a complete showcase of all new Pig&Dan productions. Amongst these are collaborations such as, ‘Mannequin Swing’ featuring Namito (which has received high praise from the likes of Monika Kruse and Riva Starr); and ‘Geeza’ featuring electronic pioneers, Underworld.
The duo were highly praised for their signature sound of edgy minimal music in their debut artist album ‘Imagine’, and with even more high quality production alongside twisted and experimental breakdowns, dancefloors look set to fall in love with the follow-up, ‘Then & Now’.
