© SubcultureHaving been born in early 2010 John O’Callaghan has taken his Subculture label and brand all over the world. Now, he’s ready to take it to a third compilation edition due out this month…

I think John O’Callaghan has firmly established himself as the biggest trance DJ to emerge from Ireland in recent years with a string of successful singles and three artist albums to date. The most recent of which, ‘Unfold’, came out this year and really highlighted the musical evolution John puts himself through to keep onto of the game. His production pedigree is without any question and neither is his DJ one. Over the past few year’s he’s been banging out his trade in clubs all over the world from Ibiza to Frankfurt. Travelling with him is his self created ‘Subculture’ brand, which at the start of 2010 entered the label market with Armada Music.

The pinnacle of the label is its annual compilation series which outs together the very best on Subculture and from John’s own personal record box over two full on mixes. The spread between his pounding uplifting trance contrasts that of his tech driven styles over the two discs always make his compilations an essential one to hit the repeat button on. He’s had two down, now its time for the hat trick and the 2011 edition of ‘Subculture’.

”I’m so thankful to artists like Heatbeat, Tom Colontonio, Chris Metcalfe, Full Tilt, Sneijder to name but a few – for providing me with very hard choices to pick for these releases! Along with the events which we have planned for London, Dublin, Belfast, Newcastle & LA … 2012 looks promising for Subculture!”

John O’Callaghan

You can find 4 exclusive new tracks and remixes on the 2011 edition as well a s a few little cheeky edits to make the mixes flow like water down a rock face. I’ve always enjoyed the Subculture compilations and John’s style of trance. I’m sure you will the same; this one will be dropping through the usual music outlets at the end of this month.
