The first regional round of the Richard Durand vs. The World contest is now open… Asia, Australia and New Zealand, it’s your time to shine! Producers, singers and songwriters inside the region can head to Richard’s Facebook Fanpage (facebook.com/djricharddurand), click ‘Download’ on the App and grab the base track. Where you choose to go with it from there is entirely up to you! Tempo, style, feel, direction - the choice is all yours. Apply your riffs, melodies, FX, top-lines, mainlines, bass, percussion – hey, do what you need to do to make it pop! You can network with other likeminds online to create it – you produce/they sing, vice versa, or whichever dynamic works for you! Once your masterpiece is complete (you have until the 12th of December to finish it), head back to the Fanpage click ‘Upload’… and put it into contention!
So, what’s in it for you studio-heads?
Beside fame and everlasting glory, you mean!? Well, if you win you’ll receive a writing share of the tracks and 50% of the artists’ royalties (which will vary depending on how many co-producers there are). You will have co-produced a track with Richard Durand - one of the most sought after EDM artists out there - and become a featured artist on his new album. Additionally you’ll have the kudos of having taken part in a ground breaking, high-profile release and one that might just put YOU squarely on electronic dance music’s map for the first time! Once a region deadline’s past, it’s the Music Fans turn! Richard will post his favourites up on his Soundcloud Page. There you guys can give your keen/less keen/general comments. He’ll take your feedback on board to help him pick the submissions (yes, plural - there may be more than one!) he’s going to move forward to work with. The final, finished track will be included on the first ‘Vs. The World’ EP (released Jan 9th 2012) and will feature on the final, first-of-its-kind Richard Durand vs. The World CD.
This will be co-production on a never attempted before and quite literally global scale, people! A year-long mission to create a totally unique album that joins all the continents and all four corners of the globe. This is Richard Durand… VS. THE WORLD!
Deadlines
The first round of this epic around the world production challenge from Richard starts from today (14th November) and runs until the 12th December. You have until then to get your production enrty in. The first EP in the series 'Riachard Durand Vs. Asia EP' will be released on the 9th January. Swiftyl after that the Europeon round begins on the 9th Janaury with the EP release 'Richard Durand Vs. Europe EP' released on the 5th March.
