© Paul WebsterTalla 2XLC's legendary Technoclub will be hosting another of Ireland's finest exports on the 3rd December with Paul Webster dropping in to make his Technoclub debut. We went for a few words about it...

Ireland is rich with electronic dance music talent, especially within the trance genre. One of those talents pushing further into the scene is a one Paul Webster who reaches another milestone in his career next week by stepping behind the decks of the world famous Technoclub. With Talla 2XLC’s legendary club night now in its 27th year he has hosted some of the finest talents in days gone by. Paul Webster may not have been around as long as Technoclub or Talla but he is a talent for the future. Having been personal invited by Tiesto to play at Privilege last Summer Paul just wants to live the dream as he heads into 2012. He will be doing just that on the 3rd December alongside Talla 2XLC and Orkidea as he treats the club to his individual style of uplifting tech trance. We managed to catch a word before his debut.

i:Vibes: Thanks Paul for taking some time to talk to i:Vibes.nu. 2011 is almost over and what has been your coolist moment in the club?

Paul: Hey, Good to speak to you guys, yes 2011 has been an amazing year, my best yet, There has been so many and very hard to choose one in particular , playing Judgement Sunday in Ibiza for the third year in a row, My debut Argentina tour, Eurofest Festival in Mexico, and making my debut at the legendary Gallery at the Ministry Of Sound in London are ones that spring to mind, but i've left out loads as i could of been here all night!

i:Vibes: What was your overall opinion about the results of the 2011 DJ Mag Top 100? David Guetta as #1 and less trance djs than usual?

Paul: To be honest i have not paid much attention to it and did not push one bit to get in as i still feel it's to soon for me, i'd love to get in some day so hopefully over the next few years i can try make my mark on the poll, Guetta been number 1 does not bother me either, he's huge and along with Tiesto there the biggest worldwide, so fair play to him.

i:Vibes: You will be making your Technoclub debut in December at the 27 years Technoclub party. You weren´t even born when Talla 2XLC started this club. What have you known about this legendary club?

Paul: Yep thats crazy to think but yeah i've so much good stuff about the club off my good friends Simon Patterson and John O'Callaghan and know myself how big of a clubbing institute it is, and no club night lasts 27 years unless it is something special and thats exactly what i've heard Technoclub is so cant wait to get over the next week and smash the club apart PW style :o)

i:Vibes: You are 27 and when was the first time that you heard the name Talla 2XLC?

Paul: When I came across his track 815 To Nowhere on vinyl back in 1999.

i:Vibes: How known is Talla in the Irish EDM scene?

Paul: Yep he's quite well known over here and has plenty of irish fans, which have travelled over the years to see him play at Technoclub.

i:Vibes: What special question would you like to ask Talla 2XLC the most about his career?

Paul: What's been your favourite Technoclub moment from the 27 years.

i:Vibes: What is your favorite Talla 2XLC track?

Paul: 815 To Nowhere by far, and actually i've done my own remix off it 2 years ago, hopefully it will be released in 2012 as i gets amazing reactions in my sets whenever i play it, also loved the John O'Callaghan remix of No Inbetween from 2007.

i:Vibes: How would a Paul webster/Talla 2XLC track sound like?

Paul: You will find out in 2012 maybe!

i:Vibes: What can we expect from your DJ gig at Technoclub soundwise?

Paul: The perfect blend of Uplifting,Driven and Tech Trance with a perfect mixture of new and old tracks.

i:Vibes: When you had corruption finished, did you ever expect it to be such a hit?

Paul: No not at all, I was very lucky that Judge Jules picked up on the track a week or so after it was finished and he hammered in week after week on bbc radio1 and this led to Armada signing it, it still gets amazing reaction whenever i play it,you never know you mite hear it at the 27th birthday next week

i:Vibes: What future productions can we expect from you?

Paul: I have two remix's out this week, My remix of the classic Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun and another remix for label i have been working closely with this year - Garuda, the tracks called "Shinowata" and it's by Michael Jay Parker & Jan Miller, I've just started work on a collaboration with Judge Jules and also a remix for Simon Patterson for his label Night Vision for one of his older tracks - We'll See.

i:Vibes: If you could be stuck in the studio with anyone for 24 hours, who would you choose to produce a track with?

Paul: Something a little different - Coldplay, there my favourite band by far and would love to see what we came up with.

i:Vibes: Which German trance producer do you respect the most?

Paul: Paul van Dyk, Cosmic Gate and Talla himself.

i:Vibes: What was your most crazy DJ experience so far in your DJ career?

Paul: Not so much crazy but been asked to personally by Tiesto himself to play his club night in the worlds biggest club, Privilege Ibiza back in september 2010, something that i'll never forget, what a club, 8,000 people on monday night, WOW!

i:Vibes: What do you like to do most to get away from the strenious DJ lifestyle?

Paul: Spending a much time as possible with my fiance Elaine and my daughter Emma who is nearly two years old and going to the gym and doing normal stuff like everyone else like going the cinema and going for meals.

i:Vibes: What are your top 5 all time favorite tracks?

Paul: So many tracks out there that mean so much to me from over the years, its to hard to pick so i'm just going to choose 5 that i played and still would play today in no order!!

Warrior - If You Want Me
System F - Out Of The Blue
Jam X & De Leon - Can You Dig It?
The Act - Something About You.
Mauro Picotto - Lizard

i:Vibes: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Paul: Hopefully still pushing the sound and name Paul Webster and living the dream.

i:Vibes: If you played your last ever DJ set, with what track would you end your DJ set?

Paul: Corruption, as that's what kicked it all off me and got my name out there, so would have to play that last.

Top 5 Tracks

1. Simon Patterson - We'll See (Paul Webster Remix)
2. Michael Jay Parker & Jan Miller - Shinowata (Paul Webster Remix)
3. Jamie Harrison - Lunar Light (Des McMahon Remix)
4. Garth Emery - Tokyo
5. Blank & Jones - Cream (Chris Metcalfe Remix)
