© KhoMha2011’s been an extraordinary year for Coldharbour artist KhoMha. In a whirlwind quick period of time the 20-year-old Columbian’s productions have caught the ear of many of the world’s top tier of DJs.

His studio sessions have produced jet-propelled audio that’s seized the sets of spinners as contrasting as Tiësto, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, the Swedish House Mafia and Above & Beyond. Tracks like ‘Magnetik’, ‘Rainy In The Night’ and ‘507’ have impressed the press too. Just last month the UK’s DJ Mag called the latter “another white-knuckle, biggest-ride-in-the-park tune”, going on to say that “when dropped, right-time/right-floor, ‘507’ does scary levels of damage!”

With the year almost at an end, Coldharbour honcho Markus Schulz reflects that: “Coldharbour’s had a killer 2011 and I’m very proud of the music we’ve put out. Ironically that’s meant that selecting our Artist of the Year has made for the very toughest of decisions! KhoMha has played a huge part in what we’ve been about musically of late. Whether it’s been his own original productions, or remixes of tracks like ‘Sinners’ and DNS Project’s ‘Another Day’ (and a half dozen others besides), I’ve played his productions week in, week out throughout whole year. The reception to those tracks, both on the floors and the Global DJ Broadcast listener forums, has been at the highest end of the scale. His productions have been exceptional, his talent undeniable and he shows an enormous amount of promise for the future. For all these reasons KhoMha is Coldharbour’s 2011 Artist of the Year. On behalf of myself, the C.H. team and the GDJB listenership, we send big congrats his way!”

On receiving the news KhoMha (Robert Alzate) said “I greatly appreciate this honour from Markus and the label. I’m really at the very beginning of my career, but to have something like this happen so early in the day is amazing! Rest assured, I will not be resting on my laurels! I have big plans, both production and DJ-wise, for next year, which will start with the release of my new EP ‘Mind Gamer’ in January. So warm greetings from Medellín! Have a great festive period and KhoMha looks forward to making your feet move in 2012!!”
