 The Technoclub is open for business this Saturday with Talla inviting Italian trance master Manuel Le Saux along for company. We caught up with Manuel for a few words on his return to the club and his plans for 2012...
Living in Rome, and championing the sound of full-on euphoric trance across Europe, Manuel has become known for uplifting peaktime trance, and his vast list of productions and remixes speak for itself. Known by his fans to play trance that no other DJs are playing has given Manuel a recognizable identity of his own.
With releases on Recoverwold, Discover, A State Of Trance, Enhanced , and Digital Society Recordings, it’s evident that le Saux’s Extrema radioshow on afterhours.fm is one of the most listened to trance shows online.
With over 1,000 radioshows already aired, it’s no wonder he is continually booked to play Europe’s big trance events, Quest 4 Trance, Luminosity, Tomorrowland, Entrance Festival, Technoclub and Gatecrasher to name but a few.
Further afield, Manny has graced the crowds of Australia, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Sweden, UK, Ireland, Poland, the Cech. Republic, Spain, Turkey, Finland, Switzerland, Slovenia, Mexico and Argentina… the legacy of a great talent.
Underground Anthems 2 on Recoverwolrd was Mixmag’s ‘compilation of the month’ in June 2009, and with an excellent mix of top-shelf trance, quite rightly so. With a World tour announced for 2012, and a debut artist album in the making, le Saux will continue to be hot property for some time.
i:Vibes: 2012 is now three months done. What has been your coolest experience in the studio and club so far this week?
Manuel: Well actually I’ working on my album, so every time I finish a track is a cool moment for me. About club nights I think that my return at Technoclub will be very cool for me.
i:Vibes: You are from Rome. I was in Rome last week. My favourite spot is the Coliseum. What is your favourite spot in Rome to chill and reflect about music?
Manuel: My favourite place in Rome is san peter. It’s huge and when you go inside, well, it’s a great inspiring place
i:Vibes: How excited are you about returning to the Technoclub where you have preformed before?
Manuel: I’m really, really exited for more than one reason. Ill play again with my big friend Talla and Ill play again for German trance lovers, they are great!!!
i:Vibes: You are performing at the Exit Easter party at Technoclub. If you had an Easter hunt with Talla 2XLC, how would you hide the golden egg best so he couldn’t find it?
Manuel: I would eat it, so it would be mine hahahah!
i:Vibes: How respected is Talla 2XLC in Italy?
Manuel: He’s respected a lot. Talla is a legend. People still talk about him and his latest gig in Italy.
i:Vibes: When was the first time that you heard the name Talla 2XLC?
Manuel: I was really young when I’ve got a vinyl with one of his best track "Is Anybody Out There? "
i:Vibes: What is your favourite Talla 2XLC track and why?
Manuel: That would be ‘Talla 2XLC feat. Skysurfer – Terra Australis’ Why? It’s pure trance!!
i:Vibes: If you were to make a track with Talla 2XLC, what kind of sound could we await?
Manuel: You will get an answer if and when we'll decide to make one track together. Actually I can only say that it would be a good trance track, but they would be only words, and I prefer facts.
i:Vibes: What kind of DJ set can we expect from you at Technoclub?
Manuel: 100% pure trance!
i:Vibes: How has trance music developed in Italy in the last 10 years?
Manuel: Oh well, music has changed a lot in these 10 years, house, techno and house again, then electro... Ottaviani and I were the only two producers who produced some trance. Actually new young producers started making trance too.
i:Vibes: Who were your early musical inspirations and why?
Manuel: Well, it would sounds strange but it was and still is Mozart.
i:Vibes: How has your sound developed since Liquid Emotion?
Manuel: Wow. Liquid emotion, that was a long time ago. It was 2003 if I am right, well I can say that I’ve learned a lot in these years and you will see when you hear the album at the end of the year.
i:Vibes: What new releases can we await from you in the next months?
Manuel: In June my new Single called "wonderland" will be out on Discover and it will be included in my upcoming album too.
i:Vibes: You have produced over 1000 radio shows. Your show is called Extrema. What sets this show apart from other main stream radio shows?
Manuel: The difference is that I play tracks from upcoming producers, new labels and not only tracks from my labels, oh I don’t have a label but I’m sure you know what I mean.
i:Vibes: If you could spend 24 hours in the studio with Giuseppe Ottaviani, what kind of track could we await?
Manuel: If I could spend 24 hours with Giuseppe we wouldn’t do anything at all, every time we spend time having fun together, so 24 hours aren’t too much for us.
i:Vibes: Which trance artists do you respect the most from Germany?
Manuel: Paul van Dyk and Talla.
i:Vibes: What are your current 5 favourite tracks?
