It's without fresh new trance producers like James Poulton that the uplifting sound would slowly fade into the past. If you've yet to sample a tune or a remix by hot new talent from the UK, let me pout that right with his new monster 'Evolve'...

There never seems to be a shortage of new names dropping into the trance scene to replace the ones who drift off into a house direction. The uplifting sound is still good and strong and it’s thanks to producers like James Poulton who have a fresh enthusiasm for trance. He hails from the UK and is slowly building a reputation as being one of the hottest new talents the scene currently has on show. It was a dance festival up north 'Homelands' that got him hooked into the sound and having spent time DJ'in in London clubs spinning he turned to producing in 2012. The debut result was 'Anodyne' which soon set like cement in the playlists of Armin van Buuren, Gareth Emery, Paul Oakenfold and John O'Callaghan to name a few. Monster Tunes had the pleasure of unleashing that one and they have the honour of his sequel with 'Evolve'.

:: Original Mix
:: Radio Edit

There is something which grabs you with every James Poulton release, I know he’s only had two and a remix but the sound he delivers is very fresh. ‘Evolve’ is a very suitable title for a track which just drops a few miles per hour compared to his previous works. The melody is the focus here and early in the track you’re treated to a taste of it. The break in here is full of atmosphere and sweeping sounds which ease in a delicate melody to melt the ears. He layers extra bits on top without overloading the main powerful melody and deeply rich bass line. This is not so much a pumping up lifter but once which will give you plenty of air! Even if you may think the pace is down a few bpm of what it should be you can always notch it up a few, with the same result.

Conclusion:
James delivers another epic but it's a slightly sunblime affair compared to his high paced uplifting beats found in his first outing on Monster. They have a very good talent on the books and if he keeps chucking out tunes like this, James Poulton is a name you could be seeing a lot more often.
