The Pukka Up brand has been very active and busy this summer on the white isle Ibiza, and this year they also did us the favor of putting out a massive 3 disc Ibiza compilation entitled ‘Ibiza Loves Me- We Just Got Hotter’, mixed by Charlie Hedges, Mark Robinson and a 3rd disc, mixed by Sam Walker, which is a Pukka Up Records Bonus Mix!

They just announced the official reunion party at Pacha in London so what better occasion to take a look and listen to this compilation, to find out if Pukka Up can make it hotter and give us some great Ibiza flavor here, and make the summer last a little longer?

On CD1 Charlie start things out with Axwell’s Recut of ‘Resurrection’ from Michael Calfan, which introduces us to the mix with some tech sounding house synths and beats, and then takes you on a incredible journey into the house music with a fusion of some heavy and monster electro/tech/uplifting and deep sounding tracks. Charlie here gives us some fantastic tracks like Tim Mason’s ‘The Moment’ in the Steve Angello Edit, the lovely ‘Camorra’ tune from Nicky Romero and the wild and magnificent sounds of ‘How R U Feeling Right Now’ from NO_ID in a gorgeous Michael Woods Re-Edit! Really banging’! He takes things deeper and more dirty on ‘Go Bang’ from Chocolate Puma & Firebeatz in the massive Hardcore Mix, and show us some beautifl uplifting and a really stunning break on ‘Sing2Me’ from Thomas Gold, a really great choice, no doubt here. Towards the end we get the driving and pumping ‘Class A’ from Falseface, before the mix is closed with the beautiful and sun glistering ‘Crazy’ (Wild World) in a instrumental Mix, from Daddy’s Grove feat Skin. A great and pumping mix here from Charlie Hedges, with loads of energy and power in the mix I think.

From the Club mix we jump on board to the Boat Mix, which set sails with some classic sounds from Colorless feat Emma with ‘Its Love’ (Trippin’), cool and awesome opening here, starting things up smooth and slowly, before we’re moved into the bouncing beats on ‘Need In Me’ from Flashmob. We get down to some more deep and bouncing beats sat together with some well known lyrics on ‘Its Not Right But Its Ok’ from Daddy’s Groove feat. Little Nancy, and the great party mood continues on ‘Shake Shake’ from The Shapeshifters and Soul Central’s ‘Strings of Life’ in the lovely Mark Knight & MTV Rmx. Moving further on we also get the fantastic Balearic sounds on ‘Guitarra G’ from G-Club, beautiful acoustic guitar strings and some groovy and  pumping house beats, pure sunshine and Ibiza feeling here! This continues effective with Purple Shade & Reda Lahlou feat Claire Willis on ‘Make Me Feel’, again a warm and fantastic vocal track, followed by another with ‘Another Day’ from Rae in a Ridney & James Talk remix, uplifting and progressive blended together making a great result here. We finish things on the boat mix with ‘Astana’ from Funkagenda coming here in the massive Sultan & Ned Sheperd Remix, gorgeous and driving beats that rounds the mix of perfectly I think!

As if it couldn’t get hotter, Pukka Up is so kind that they offers you a third disc here, an exclusive Pukka Up Records bonus mix from Sam Walker! We start things with putting on a ‘Sunshine Smile’ from Bruno Motta, and that’s exactly what the track actually do, with some great synths, beats, percussion and effects here, it really moves you nicely and get things started. From the great start we move on with more beautiful beats on ‘Another You’ from Marc Alexander, presenting some fantastic piano notes among other things and some wicked and twisted synths/effects! After that were literally and absolutely breathtaking lifted! Right from the first note hitted my ears I was blown away of this, the gorgeous, lovely and beautiful track ‘Lifted’ from Sam Walker himself  and Teej with Victoria on vocal, so uplifting and it really does lift up the whole feeling and atmosphere, absolutely stunning I think! We take things down a bit more deep and minimal with ‘Glow’ from Rada Lahlou, and then pumps up the energy and pace with the energy banging track ‘I Think I’m In Love ‘ from The Futuristic Polar Bears & Joe Quinn feat Jamie Lee-Wilson, massive tune and sounds bouncing out the speakers here.

The Futuristic Polar Bears feat Tia takes things up and raises the pace with the slamming sounds of ‘Elements Of Me’, and we continue in that track on Ted Nilsson’s ‘Your Elements’, before we’re moving on towards the end with Fifth Avenue feat Frances Wood on “Feel With Me” (The Groove Guys) again a big room and uplifting track spiced up with some heavy and banging sounds, beats and synths, followed by the Sam Walker & Teej Mix of ‘It's Love (Trippin)’ from Colorless feat Emma, serving us with some pounding beats and kicking bassline kicks along some more uplifting and driving elements and synths, making it aggressive and ‘biting’ in a very cool way I think before we reach the ‘Deadline’ from Falseface, closing it down with some trippy and acid sounding synths and beat programming, putted together with a pumping and ‘slippery’ bassline! Fantastic closing of the mix here on disc 3 also!

Conclusion:
I think that all 3 mixes here manage to offer and give the listener a unique, special and spiritual musical experience and atmosphere, mainly because that a lot of the tracks selected for the mixes here are not really that well known or hyped, which in this case makes the 3 discs stand out and creates a strong and powerful compilation that you should check out if you’re into great and fantastic house music and groovy beats!
