© AnjunabeatsWhen the guys very swiftly announced that the 450th episode of 'Trance Around The World' was to be the last ever it got a few fans wondering what was going off. Well, they've got the paint out and re-branded the show 'Group Therapy Radio' with the first episode this week...

There was no real announcement or explanation to the closing comments of ‘Trance Around The World 449’ other than ‘Next week will be the last ever edition of Trance Around The World’. It got the forums and message boards up in arms to what the Above & Beyond guys meant. Where they breaking up? Why was the show coming to an end? Those just a few of the questions raised by fans around the world. This week all has become clear. They have taken on a re-branding of not just the show, but also their official web space to. The new show will be called ‘Group Therapy Radio’ which takes on the brand name of their last artist album.

"Group Therapy captures the relationship between us, our music and you, our audience, and the magic that happens when those three things interact. It's something you've all taken into your hearts and it lies at the centre of everything that we do - the community, the connection, the interaction. Our radio show is our weekly Group Therapy with all of you."

That’s what the guys had to say about the new name for the show. You can be sure that all that has changed is the name as they continue to state in a little FAQ on their site they have not changed the music policy. The keen trance fan may be annoyed that they have ditched the word trance in their show title and I’m sure one reason for the re-brand is to open up new styles of music in the show not quite fitting with the trance genre. The guys are still rock solid as ever and Above & Beyond will continue to grow.

GROUP THERAPY RADIO FAQ

When does Group Therapy radio show begin?

The start of Group Therapy Radio will be triggered when Above & Beyond take to the stage during their live TATW450 broadcast, which is coming from Jayamahal Palace in Bangalore, India on 10 November.

Can I tune in live on 10 November?

Yes, the show will be broadcast globally on the internet via aboveandbeyond.nu/radio, where you can also find full info on local FM broadcasts and timings in your country. You can also follow all the action on our live player app, which will showcase all the best official and fan content from the event as it happens.

Will the Group Therapy radio show be broadcast weekly?

Yes. From Friday 16 November, Group Therapy Radio will occupy Above & Beyond’s regular weekly radio slot of 7 – 9pm GMT every Friday night. You can listen to the show through all our usual broadcast partners, including DI.fm, all our FM syndicates, Sirius XM across North America and the podcast in iTunes. If you already subscribe to A&B's TATW podcast, you will automatically receive the new show every week via iTunes.

Why is Above & Beyond’s radio show being renamed Group Therapy?

Originally the title of Above & Beyond’s second artist album, Group Therapy has become an idea that has resonated hugely with the many thousands of fans who have attended Above & Beyond’s shows. As Jono, Tony and Paavo explain above, it describes perfectly the relationship between the band, their fans and each other. Community, connection and interaction have always been central to everything Above & Beyond do and those three things lie at the heart of Group Therapy. The radio show has always been the biggest weekly interaction between Above & Beyond and their fans around the world - a global Group Therapy session. We'll be introducing a range of new online features to enrich the interactive experience for listeners.

Is the music policy of the radio show changing?

No, the music policy will remain the same. Above & Beyond will continue to present 90 minutes of the best in trance and progressive, with a 30 minute guest mix from some of their favourite artists each week.

What is the official hashtag for Group Therapy Radio?

#ABGT. Use it and join in the Global Group Therapy chat each week by sending in your thoughts, photos and messages.
